Hi Rachel

General timing guidelines for wedding invitations is:

Save the Date cards: 6-8 months in advance

Wedding Invitations: 6-8 weeks in advance

Destination wedding invitations: 3 months in advance

RSVP date: 3 weeks before your wedding

Most wedding reception venues require confirmation of final numbers 1 week before your wedding - so to give yourself plenty of time to chase up anyone who hasn't replied on time you should set your RSVP date 3 weeks before your wedding. Adjust your RSVP date according to the date that your venue requires for finalisation of guest numbers and payment.

Enjoy your wedding planning!!

Kindest regards,

Milka

Hi Rachel!

I generally recommend to get your invitations out 10 weeks before your wedding date and setting your RSVP date 6 weeks before the wedding date. I find alot of venues like numbers a month before the big day so you then have two weeks to chase any late responders before you need to advise the venue.

That is just a rough timeline - you can alter it according to when your venue requires final numbers.

Also if it is a destination wedding you can keep the same timeline but I always recommend sending a Save the Date card at least 12 months in advance as it then gives guests plenty of notice to financially prepare if they need too. :)

Good luck!

Hi Rachel,
We recommend one month before the wedding as a minimum. This gives you a couple of weeks to chase guests before you have to let your venue know numbers and enough time to order your stationery! :)

Hi Rachel, RSVP's should have a return by date no shorter than 4 - 6 weeks prior to event, as that will give you time to organize any table stationery you might need or invite someone extra at the last minute. Good Luck with everything...I know it will all go well! Best Wishes, Marie from BW REPORTER

Hi Rachel,

Invitations for local weddings should be sent out 2-3 months prior. Invitations for destination weddings & international guests should be sent 6 -12 months prior. The RSVP date is largely dependant on when the venue needs the numbers by. Generally, the RSVP date is anywhere between 3-6 weeks prior to the wedding. It's best to add 1 week to the venue's required RSVP deadline, because you will most likely need to chase guests up. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't reply on time.

I hope this helps! Cheers, Lava.

Hi Rachel

I usually recommend sending invites out 3 months before the wedding and setting the RSVP date 6 weeks before the wedding. That gives you plenty of time to send out a second group of invites if you get some early NO's. It seems terrible to have an A and B list but with the expense associated with weddings you have to make some difficult decisions. We usually offer our couples to send adfitional invites at the cost of the originals and even change the RSVP date without extra charge. Happy to help further. Enjoy the planning it's a very very citing time.

Hi Rachel,
I would recommend sending you invitations out before Christmas as January is a popular time for a holidays and your guests may then receive your invitations a bit late. Also be mindful that at the busy end of the year it can take 4 weeks to create and produce your wedding invitations so ordering early will ensure the process is smooth & enjoyable.
For your RSVP I recommend 6 weeks before your big day (so 28.01.17 for you) as you will need to follow up approximately 10% of your RSVPs and by that time you will have a good month to finalise your seating, wedding day stationery items etc... Plus your venue / catering will be asking for final payment around the 1 month to go mark. I hope my response has been helpful!
Best wishes,
Hayley

Hi Rachel, generally invites are sent out two months prior to the wedding date. If it is a destination wedding or have guests traveling then it is advised to give them more notice.

RSVP's should be requested one moth prior to the wedding, having said that is will also depend on when the venue requires final numbers.

Good luck!
