Just over one hour from Melbourne, down the Monash Freeway, the renowned West Gippsland Gourmet Country takes in lush green pastures, rolling hills and state forests to reveal a diverse range of superb gourmet delights.
On a long spit of land going out into Tarago Lake the ten acre gardens and Bed & Breakfast of Janalli sit in a protected valley surrounded by the hills and pastures of West Gippsland. The garden is now fifteen years old and maturing into one of Australia’s major gardens.
The Bed & Breakfast provides accommodation in three luxurious suites, each with a private entrance. A conservatory serves as a light and sun filled sitting room where a cosy fire draws guests in the winter. The day starts with a country breakfast in here. The Potager provides freshly picked food for breakfast. Gourmet dinners can be arranged and served in here, in the dining room or even in the garden on a lovely summer evening.
West Gippsland has a thriving arts community which organises open studios and special exhibitions. Janalli’s gardens open on an annual basis to the public. This year we will open for the Australian Open Gardens Scheme on 3rd and 4th November from 10.00 to 4.00 in support of the local Neerim District Hospital. The Ladies Auxilary from the hospital will be serving morning and afternoon teas.
