It was the perfect venue for us. We had tghe ceremony and reception there. The ceremony was in the outdoor resturant area (which was perfcet as it rained all day on the wedding). The reception (Plantation Room) was also perfect- light and open. You have your own bar and kitchen- so not competing with the facilites in the resturant area

Part of the wedding package they provide you with a nights accommodation. The room is nice- but not really a honeymooners room. Ie, no big spa or flowers on the bed, etc. The room is just larger than their normal rooms.

This venue is unique in that it is not just a room with 4 walls. It actually has windows and private outdoor areas joined to the function room. We had a lovely alternate drop menu which all the guests enjoyed. They were very accommodated with the alcohol selection and allowed us to select some alcohol that they would not normally stock. The accommodation was also of high standard. The only down side to this venue is that there is no wheelchair access. There is 2 flights of stairs to get up to the large function room. They do have 2 smaller function rooms on the ground floor that do have wheelchair access. Overall we were very happy with The Hotel Cairns.
