There's a reason The Baker Boys are considered so darn fabulous.
With members and former members that include Grammy Award-winning artist Gotye and The Cat Empire keyboardist Oliver McGill (who also wrote the viral hit Dumb Ways to Die) among their crew, they're hardly your typical wedding band.
The Baker Boys are full-time professional musos, most of them session musicians who have played alongside some of Australia's biggest names including Crowded House, Jimmy Barnes and Pete Murray as well as New Zealand's Kimbra.
"We're not your typical wedding band,'' says Catriona Gosnold, the band's National Marketing Manager. "Our members are full-time musicians. They don't just play music on the weekends or around their jobs. They write and play music - all day and every day.
"Music is their life and they love sharing it with the public."
The Baker Boys started about 12 years ago and has members across the country (except in the Northern Territory and Queensland) and each state's Baker Boys band is hand-picked.
They perform mostly at weddings but regularly appear at festivals and corporate events.
"We definitely know how to make a crowd jump,'' says Catriona, "and performing at a wedding is a real art. It's about more than just learning the cheesiest wedding songs.
"You have to get the mix of fun and romance just right but you also need to know how to appeal to as many people in the room, not just the young guests or the old guests, but everyone possible!"
"One of our favourite things to do is perform at weddings. They usually have a fantastic atmosphere but alos, we get to be such an important part of a couple's big day."
The Baker Boys' music crosses all genres, from the latest Top 40 hits to perennials by Sinatra and Elvis. They also perform classical music and signature cultural music, including Irish melodies and Jewish tunes.
For the next few weeks, Easy Weddings and The Baker Boys are giving one lucky couple the chance to win their wedding band! That's more than $2000 value.
Unfortunately, The Baker Boys don't yet perform in the Northern Territory or Queensland, so you'll need to be living in one of the other states or territories to enter.
To be in the running, all you have to do is tell us in 25 words or less: What is the one song, when played or performed, that never fails to get you up and dancing and straight into party mode? And why?
