Hi Bride a great question. It really depends on what you refer to as cheaper. Many couples unfortunatly shop on price and end up paying too much for their wedding videography. It all comes down to price vs value. Which is the cheaper price $900 or $2999. Many of you would jump in say $900, but ias it really. Let's break it down and have a look at the VALUE of what your actully getting. Your ceremony goes for around an hour, so essentially your paying $900 per hour. That equates to a wage of $36000 per week or 1.872 million a year. Not all that cheap. Now, lets look at the $2999 package. You get say 1 videographer, 8 hours of coverage a highlight film and footage which will include a number of hours of production. On the face of it $2999 /8 gets you $374 per hour + your production time. That's nearly 1/3 the price of the cheaper package. Why do videographers charge such high amounts for less time? Consider this, if your employer asked you to work for 2 hours at $25 per hours rather than 8 hours at $25 would you? The answer is probably no. Because you can't book in anything else for your day and it's simply not worth it.
When booking videography we will always suggest that every couple look at VALUE rather than PRICE as it's a common rule, the less the price, the less the VALUE and what you actually get. That leads us into so many other questions, like 2 videographers rather than one? The answer is ALWAYS yes, by the way. Any questions, feel free to contact our customer service staff and we'll walk you through everything to help you find the right package for you. Hope this helps you out and when comparing your quotes try not to shop on PRICE. Remember, there should be two parts to your wedding films, the filming and the production. Look at what you get and keep in mind that UNEDITED RAW footage is NOT a completed product.
What's the average price for a videographer in victoria?
I am looking at spending $3500, is this a normal price for a skilled videographer for all day?
It's a great question. Many couples, when looking for videography, shop on price and forget that they are the ones that determine what is good quality and what is not. A film can be beautifully filmed and edited and won thousands of awards, if it doesn't appeal to you it's not worth any amount of money. Our films range from $3490 to $9000 depending on the style of film you are looking for. They are all filmed by the same videographers and all of the same quality, the determining factor is what makes it watchable to you. My only advise, would be to find five videographers where you like their films, not the price, and take it from there. Don't forget to watch examples of every film included in your preferred videographers package to ensure what your getting is what your expecting. The two are often very different. Best of luck and if you have any questions, we're here to help. Geoff ~ WeddingFlix Studios
Why should I get a videographer if I'm already having a photographer?Cindy S
I'm on the fence about videography and need that extra push. Can you tell me why I should have both a photographer and a videographer at my wedding?
Hi Cindy. Great question and one that we get all the time from couples deciding on the best mix of photography and videography. After filming over 2000 weddings in the last 10 years, the most important part of your day is your ceremony. It's what you invite all your family & friends to watch. You arrange a celebrant or minister to conduct the ceremony and you'll probably write your own vows. Video is the only medium that can capture these moments and without it, every word of the most important part of your day is lost. Forever. Videography, if done correctly, is probably the most natural way to capture all the celebrations of your wedding day. What do you do when you take a photo? Yep, pose. Where a good videographer doesn't require any posing at all. They should be able to capture your whole day, as naturally as it happens. It's become increasingly popular in the last few years, for our couples to decrease their photography spend and increase their spend on videography as it's a more immersive experience. I'd love you to watch some of our films then look a set of photos and let me know which one you enjoyed more. You can check out our latest films. If you need any further help in choosing the right videographer for you, please let us know.
How much does wedding videography normally cost?Katherine W
My fiance and I are getting married in Melbourne and are looking at having a videographer as well as a photograher. We were hoping to spend around $2000-$3000 but all of the nice ones I have seen want around $5000!
As a general rule, your wedding videography spend should be around the same, if not a little more, as your photography spend and will also depend on what type of film/s you are looking for and the number of videographers.
The films where there is no story (vows, etc) and just what we call a music video, will generally cost less as there is very little production.
Maybe we can help you out. We are Australia's leading wedding videography brand and create story driven wedding films. Our prices start at $3999 with an average spend of $6500, however, we are currently holding our EOFY Winder sale and can offer you a full day package with two videographers for $2999 if your interested.
