Every person is different and you should not feel pressured into wearing a wedding band. My wife and I have been married 21 years and exchanged flower lai's instead of rings on our wedding day as the sign of our commitment. Neither of us have regretted the decision ............... although we know own a jewellery store specialising in handcrafted Australian made wedding rings for men. Go figure!

No you don't have to wear a wedding ring however we would always recommend it. Not just because we're jewllers but because not having one on the day is a common regret. If you have a wide engagement ring and you feel your fingers won't suit a wedding ring the same width then it's perfectly acceptable to choose a narrow wedding band. This is especially important if you're considering a matching eternity ring in the future. Choosing a narrow wedding ring and matching eternity will nicely frame your engagement ring and create symmetry. Whilst it's true you can always get a wedding ring later, it's not the ring you were married with. The exchange of rings is an important part of the wedding ceremony and the only thing from your wedding that you will have forever. Often they are the most cherished item your kids will inherit. It's important to consider all these factors when deciding on your wedding rings. Ultimately the decision is yours. There are no rules. As always follow your heart.
