Our celebrant gave us a brochure called "happily ever before and after"?

They explained why which is fine, but this brochure is really terrible haha, why is this still a thing?!

Hi, Celebrants are obligated under the Attorney General's Department to give every couple this brochure. We have to indicate on the Notice of Intended Marriage that this brochure has been handed to the couple. It has some very useful information which many couples ask about, and have found very helpful. The main message in the Happily ever after brochure is that every marriage is important and valued and gives the couple great resources on relationship education to enhance and make the marriage stronger. . How long does a civil ceremony take?

I'm having a civil ceremony but I don't know how long it should be to give me enough time to do photos after and also not bore my guests? How long does the average civil ceremony take?

Hi Judith, As a guide a civil ceremony can take between 15 mins to 30 mins, depending on what is included in the ceremony. This is something you can discuss with your celebrant when preparing your ceremony. It won't be boring to your guests as they have come here to see you get married and to watch the ceremony and to enjoy it. Hope you find this helpful, regards Sharen Pelly.

Can I get married in a church if Im not religious?

Im worried about the weather so Im looking for an indoor ceremony venue. Theres a church right next door to my mum's house so I thought I might have it there. But Im not religious. Can I have a civil ceremony in a church??

Hi Annabel. You don't have to be religious to be married in a church. There are many churches that are simply for hire as a venue for weddings or even funerals etc. which are not affiliated with religious denominations. You would have to find out who runs the church next door to your Mother, and enquire as to what their requirements are in respect to a wedding. Regards Sharen Pelly.
