Hi there Milli! I believe (and the way I work as a stylist) that pricing does depend on the ideas and vision of the client. You have to remember that every wedding is different and completely unique, so it can be difficult for stylists to give you a straight up flat rate style of pricing right from the get go. From my experience as a stylist, I generally try to get the most out of my clients when it comes to getting to know their ideas and vision through phone calls and face to face consultations. From there I can begin to understand how much work/hours might be involved in styling their wedding depending how "full on" if you like, the clients vision is. For example, if my client wants hanging installations, lighting displays, extravagant center pieces on all 30 tables, 200 wedding invitations, place cards and thank you letters I would be charging more than a client who has a more simplistic vision, perhaps smaller budget to work with, 50 guests, so only 50 invites and place cards, and wants more of a relaxed or rustic atmosphere; because after all its a stylists job to create that mood and atmosphere through their styling and this goes from the invite which is the first impression your guests get of your wedding, to the ceremony and reception, this gives a cohesive theme and style which is what your stylist should be aiming to provide.
