I would suggest having a theme for your wedding. For example, I worked with a couple that met on a cruise and had a long distance relationship for a few years. There theme for their wedding is 'travel'. So I have created unique wedding decor ideas based on this (i.e. postcards from around the world for their guestbook, luggage tag for the bonboniere, guest seating chart 'where in the world am I sitting?' etc).

Thinking of small things is important too! In the ladies and gentlemens bathroom, setting up a station/ classy trolly with hair straighteners, mints, perfume, cologne etc. Having slippers for guests in the bathroom for their 'dancing feet'.

I feel like all these thoughtful gestures make a wedding such a unique experience and your guests will remember. All the best with your wedding planning! Feel free to reach out if I can provide any further suggestions or helpful tips!

Consistent with what we do, balloons are a new, funky yet stylish trend that is up and coming for weddings. Traditionally used for party events such as birthdays and baby showers, weddings are now incorporating classic looks with balloons and they can be easily customised to suit your event. You would be amazed at the unique style and wow factor that balloons can give, and its easy to go as little or as large as you'd like for your event. A unique trend is for the balloon garland backdrop - whether this be a backdrop to the ceremony, your bridal table, or even as a photo booth section. Your guests will be in absolute awe!

Anything personalised!

Think about having some custom pieces made instead of hiring pieces that have already been used multiple times before you.

All the acrylic signage I create is unique because it is made just for you!

Custom pieces could include a photo backdrop sign or personalised drink stirrers for all your guests ??

It varies of what you want and budget, You can’t go wrong with artificial flower walls, it is very cost effective.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. At Romy’s Rustics we believe you need to include items that will invoke the atmosphere you are trying to create such as a variety of personalised items that symbolise you and your partner on your special day. Some ideas of how we have created this in the past are: a family tree with polaroid pictures, an artwork to represent people who have passed and an aeroplane centre piece for an avid pilot.

Good luck for your big day

When you think of your wedding day, you want it to be as unique as you.  Adding your own personal touch and having an input on your style is a must to creating that unique flare to your big day.  Think of your favorite colours, textures and mood that make you feel wonderful,  this will certainly head you down the right path.  You can start by creating an "mood" board.  This is where you can start collecting all the things that you feel that will help create that right ambience for YOU on your special day.

I think it is important that your wedding and decorations reflect your personalities.  After all your wedding is about you.  So my thoughts are to capture the essence of you as a couple and represent that through decorations.  I love the idea of creating decorations that are reflective of places you have visited or experiences you have shared.  Don't be afraid to think outside the box - there are really no rules to what you can do.  If you like it you can have it!!!!

I love to use dreamcatchers as backdrops for the ceremony or photo booth.  They can also be used around a room or hung from trees to create an earthy boho feel.

When it comes to weddings, being unique is breaking away from the popular, traditional look and venturing out with something new or different, that isn't the going trend at the moment. Adding that personal touch can sometimes make all the difference. Introducing a theme or style into your wedding day can sometimes be very effective and unique. For example, instead of having the traditional floral decorations for your ceremony and reception, you could introduce a lantern as your main item of decor and apply that look throughout your whole day. You can find some beautiful lanterns in differnt colours and styles which would look absolutely amazing as a unique look for your wedding day. The lanterns can be used in differnt ways through out the whole day from ceremony to reception just by adding that personal touch, to fit the occasion. They can be used as isle decorations for your ceremony, either hung on hooks or placed on the floor. They can also be decorated with flowers or used as candle holders for both the ceremony and reception. You can make some beautiful centrepiece decorations for the reception with a lantern by adding flowers and tea lights. There are heaps of ways a lantern can be used for wedding day decorations, which would certainly bring a unique look for that special day.

It all depends on the style of wedding that you are wanting, so I will answer this based on what has worked for us. I suggest you look for one of a kind pieces as many old items can be revamped or customised to suit your needs. Some examples we have used are painted suitcases as wishing wells, restored a vintage dresser as a cake table, wine barrel rings with foliage and a French wine rack as a seating chart. I wish you all the best for your special day.
