Should we have first dance lessons?
Neither of us can dance so we're considering getting lessons for our first dance. But we don't want anything too choreographed and awkward so we don't want to pay for full on routine dancing. Is it worth paying for dance lessons and will we benefit from them?
Jessica Prince - Come Dance with Me
Hi Roxanne, I definitely recommend still having dance lessons however, if you don't want anything to elaborate you can get away with just having a few lessons. For your situation I would recommend three lessons for you to get the most benefit from. This will allow you to learn a few basics moves that you can perform confidently in time to the music. These lessons should be tailored more to the two of you learning basic moves, learning how to move together without stepping on each other's toes and also dancing in time to the music which is often the hardest to master.
Jessica Prince - Come Dance With Me offers a package of 3 one hour lessons for $250 but I also offer a trial lesson for you and your partner to come in and just see for yourselves how beneficial just a few lessons can be.

Hi, the best advice on learning to dance for your wedding is definitely to get lessons. Experienced professionals like myself can give you the best information you need to conquer the dancefloor. I offer dance packages that can suit all budgets and all experience levels. However, if you do not want lessons the best advice I can give is practice, practice, practice. Don't try to wing it if you have never danced before or are particualrly nervous about dancing as it usually ends in disaster. Practice together and at least have a rough plan of what moves you are both comfortable with.
