Is there such a thing as a day of coordinator?

I'm happy to plan things, but would like a fairy godmother type to help keep timelines running smoothly.

Hi Catriona,

Yes of course! I can definitely help you here and customise to fit your needs :)

We typically take over comms the month before, so you can relax and enjoy. From there we will reconfirm all the suppliers, lock in the schedule and be there throughout the day.

Yes definitely! A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that all the plans the couple has made are executed smoothly on the day of the wedding.

A day-of wedding coordinator typically starts working with the couple a few weeks before the wedding, finalizing details, creating a timeline, and coordinating with vendors. On the actual wedding day, they oversee the setup, handle any issues that may arise, coordinate the ceremony and reception, and ensure that everything runs according to the planned schedule.

Hiring a day-of wedding coordinator can be especially helpful for couples who have planned most of their wedding but want a professional to take over the logistical and operational aspects on the day of the event, allowing them to relax and enjoy their special day x

Fairy Godmother is the perfect desciption.

Hey Catrion!

Yes there is! you can pay them JUST to turn up on the day and have everything taken care of smoothly to your liking, esentially an on the day manager.

All you would have to do is let the planner know what you have and whether you want it specifically a certain way, or whether you give them free reign to put things where they think will look best.

Let me know if Dreams & Glory can help you out!

Hi Catriona

Yes !! On the day coordination offers just that !

There is a generic on the day coordination package that many offer, usually meeting a month prior to gather service information, offer advice and create timelines with you to ensure the day runs to schedule.

Depending on your guest numbers, and the requirements,  it can take a number of people in a team to ensure it all goes to plan on the day, they can greet guests, guide other service providers, move furniture, Emcee and often with my business, it can be parking a car early morning in a popular beachfront location to ensure the bridal car has a space to pull into.

The final month of planning is often the busiest and can be overwhelming, this kind of service can certainly offer a solution.

Wishing you all the best

Sammy

Hello Catriona,

There absolutely is! It is one of my packages actually. If you have planned everything, but just need a professional to be there on the day, to ensure every vendor is there, bumping in, setting up where you are expecting, dealing with issues (if they arise) so can relax knowing someone with expertise has it covered. It also includes overseeing bump out of all vendors too. Yes, just like a fairy godmother !

You nailed the job description Catriona - A Day of Coordinator is a type of Fairy Godmother who steps in to execute your plans on your wedding day. You may not always see the service referred to as 'day of coordinator' however. We use the term Wedding Day Manager and some Wedding Planners call the service Month of Coordination - that's because to be effective a Wedding Coordinator needs to understand your plans, vision, priorities and more to effectively do the job you need them to do, this means they usually start working with you prior to the wedding. Our process is a meeting 8-6 weeks prior to go over all of the details and then we start coordinating with your other vendors and creating the runsheet from about 4 weeks out. Happy Wedding Planning! Hey Catriona,

YES! At Events with Amie we love OTD or (on the day) coordination. And you put it perfectly - we come in like a fairy god mother or wedding fairy - and take over in the weeks leading up you hand over all supplier details so that on the day you and your wedding party can have just as much fun and relax without having to worry about the timeline or the nitty gritty of the event. If you wanted to book a call I'd be happy to go through with you more how this works!

It's a thing and here's some of the reason:

  • They will act as your point person, personal assistant, rule enforcer and bouncer (if necessary lol).
  • They will make sure everything goes well and will handle any hiccups in the process.
  • They have done this before.
