Do many caterers provide vegan alternatives?

A lot of my friends are vegan (30% of our guests) and I don't know how to navigate the food issue as my family all eat meat and will want it.

I am in the process of trialling Gluten Free and Dairy Free canapés for a bridal party I am catering for in April. A challenge but I love a challenge. It is becoming more "the norm" and we need to be able to adapt.

Happy to help anyone.

These days it is extrememly common to have a number of guests at a wedding (or any function for that matter) that have dietary requirements whether it is vegan, lactose intolerant, coeliac or other. You will find that most caterers are more than prepared to cater to the needs of your guests provided that they have been informed. We ask our Brides & Grooms to make a note somewhere on their invitation that asks if the guest has any dietary requirements - that way they can then let us know so that we can accomodate this. We try to organise an appropriate alternative for each dish for that guest based on the menu selection of the Bride & Groom. We find that this is the best way to ensure that all the guests are happy and well fed, no one feels that they had to eat vegan for a the sake of a few and those that do have specific dietary needs dont feel asthough have been singled out and made to feel uncomfortable because of their requirements. When planning your catering just discuss your needs with your shortlisted caterers and I'm sure that they will be able to help, if not then perhaps you need to consider whether they are the right caterer for you.

We have developed our range of Vegetarian and vegan menus so that the entire wedding reception is Vegan or Vegetarian. This has been very popular and has proven to the carnivore guests that vegan and vegetarian is just as appetising as their normal fayre.

We also offer a vegan or vegetarian option for specific guests.

We do offer many Vegetarian Finger Food amongst our selections. For Main Course offerings we offer Vegetarian Lasagne w Toasted Eggplant, Grilled Zucchini & roasted tomato passata with or without bechamel sauce w Feta/ ricotta/Tasty cheese . Or we have a selection of Roasted Vegetable Creamy Quiches which are so popular when served. If you have any specific requests, we could certainly discuss the possibilities & create together.

Absolutely. Hot Coals Catering can provide for any dietary requirements. We have experience in dealing with all sorts of allergies, and requirements. We can create or adjust our menu items as needed. The key is to ask, on your invitations, for people's requirements so your caterers have time to plan! (Just this weekend we have created options for someone who cannot have gluten or fructose - that is challenging, but at Hot Coals, we are happy to help!)

Hello
One of the catering styles that we offer is a Spanish paella

This sounds so perfect for your wedding as we can cook multiple paellas for you at your wedding if you wish

For example we can cook a vegan paella for the 30% then for the remainder of the guests a chicken, chorizo and seafood paella.

If you have any guests who eat meat but are allergic to seafood then this is no problem as we can also make a small non seafood paella

All our paellas also happen to be gluten, soy, dairy, egg and nut free

Alternatively recently we did a cocktail party for a 21st which was ALL VEGAN this is possible however you can then always then add some meat options for the meat lovers

Hope that helps any more queries please let me know

Kind regards

Louise
