FAQ
I am the current President of the Alliance of Celebrants Queensland, and have been training the Cert IV in Celebrancy for over 10 years. If you have any questions about your ceremony - I have the answers!
We have a tiered pricing structure, so you won't pay for services that you aren't getting!
Prices will depend on whether you are after an elopement-style wedding, a boutique wedding with a small number of guests, a classic or traditional wedding, or an elaborate wedding service with all of the bells and whistles.
I believe in 'You get what you pay for'. If a quote seems too cheap, there is probably a good reason for it! We have years of experience as celebrants; and from training and mentoring new celebrants, we have experience in all types of ceremonies.
We have an array of wedding styling items at an additional cost. This includes signing table and chairs, chairs for guests, carpet runner, arbours, and a variety of signs ('unplugged' / 'welcome to our wedding', etc).
Gary also offers his services as an MC for your reception!

I am a U.K. Citizen & hold a Student Guardian Visa in Australia. Can I marry an Australian Citizen whilst here or will I have to leave and re- enter on a tourist visa for purposes of our intended marriage and spousal visa application?
Can you become a celebrant and preside over your own wedding?
Rose Celebrancy
Hi there,
Unfortunately you can't be the celebrant for your own wedding, however if you have a close friend or relative, they could deliver the majority of the service, in tandem with a registered celebrant who would look after all of the legal aspects.
To become a registered marriage celebrant is quite involved, with a six month course that would cost around $1800, plus a three month registration process and $600 registration fee. It would be much cheaper to engage the services of a qualified celebrant!

You can marry in Australia as long as you are eligible under Australian Marriage law. You must be over 18, not currently married, and not be in a prohibited relationship (siblings or direct descendant). Citizenship or residency is not taken into account at all to determine eligibility to marry.
A visa application is an entirely different process, and as one of the other celebrants have mentioned, you can get a letter from your celebrant to confirm that you have lodged a 'Notice of intended marriage' to assist you in your application.
