Best hairstyles for an older bride

Hello. I'm an older bride getting married for the second time. I'd like some advice please on hairstyles that suit mature brides. My hair is medium length. Many thanks.

Hi there beautiful bride to be, and congratulations on your engagement, how exciting! :-)

Our recommendation would be to:

  • find styles that suit your wedding theme, hair type and your own personality and style.
  • Select a hairstyle that works with all the other elements of your wedding (your dress, flowers etc).
  • Look through magazines and online for inspiration pictures and create a mood board or small collection of pictures.
  • Don’t look for one picture that is your perfect hair style but rather look for elements of a style that you like (e.g part line, amount of volume, waves etc).

Also, medium length hair is perfect for any style. You could also add clip in extensions for any extra length or volume that your style required.

I hope that helps, just let me know if you have any other questions! x

I say keep it simple and elegant. Soft curls , soft Hair ups make a great look.

Hello!

Don't be concerned about your age. Something complimentary, elegant and timeless is best. Speak with your stylist prior to your appointment about your questions and concerns. How do you feel most comfortable eg hair up/down, when do you feel most beautiful eg elegant up do or long waves? Extensions are always an option for thickness if you want fuller hair, too.

I know this doesn give a direct answer, but hair is personal, not age related. ??

Hi there! For an older bride getting married a second time, I recommend keeping the style fresh and modern, a style that suits your face shape. A professional hairstylist will know what suits you. A trial with a highly qualified hairstylist that specialises in bridal would be the best way to go.  LBe sure to communicate any concerns or areas you'd like to address, allowing them to tailor the style to suit your face shape, your hair length and volume and not to forget, your dress choice.  Don't think you have to choose something 'classic or timeless' necessarily - yes they can be wonderful choices but sometimes classic can looked like 'revisiting' to a mature bride! that's not ideal either!  Fresh, modern and suitable to your face shape is great. Get a good haircut and colour and your hair will look outstanding!

Hi lovely,

Congratulations ??

I did have a mature bride two weeks ago and was her second wedding too so the wedding was very intimate and wanted something elegant not over the top but still glamorous ??

So, after a few recommendations from me we ended up having hair down, Hollywood waves with a side part!
She loved it, she felt like herself but more glamorous and she was comfortable throughout the whole day and night ????

I hope you find the right choice for you ????

Thank you,

Yiota K

Hi there,

It's more about your dress and what suits your face than your age.

I'd skip the veil but apart from that choose what you like.

Hi there,

Firstly congratulations.

I would suggest the following as options to consider for your wedding hairstyle:

Do you wear your hair out or up daily?

If out, then I would suggest a soft wave to keep you looking like yourself without being too formal.

If you tend to wear your hair up alot you can either opt for a soft low bun or the latest Pamela Anderson updo which is effortless and simple while being timeless.

Depending on the theme of your wedding will help a hairstylist assist in selecting the right hairstyle for your special day, factors that also come into play is the neckline of your dress, style of dress and whether you will wear a veil or any hair accessories in your hair.

A hair trial with your preferred hairstylist would also be beneficial to try a few styles so you can see what wear well with your look and feel.

I hope this helps you a little towards finding the right hairstyle for you.
