{"id":193832,"date":"2014-08-04T14:00:28","date_gmt":"2014-08-04T04:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/virtual-reality-rosa-catos-vineyard-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T16:13:34","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T05:13:34","slug":"virtual-reality-rosa-catos-vineyard-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/virtual-reality-rosa-catos-vineyard-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Marriage a virtual reality for Sydney bride and Norwegian groom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">They still live on opposite sides of the world but newlyweds Rosa Taateo and Cato Kolseth feel closer than ever.<\/p>\n<p>The Sydney bride, 24, met the Norwegian groom, 32, at Future Music Festival while he was in Australia on a student visa. \u201cHe had the most beautiful eyes and I simply just blurted it out to him!\u201d says Rosa of their instant connection in a sea of strangers.<\/p>\n<p>They exchanged numbers sparking the beginning of three years of back-and-forth between each other\u2019s homeland, which is still continuing even since their vineyard wedding on April 30, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur relationship has never been convenient,\u201d reflects Rosa; their love enduring distance, a 10 hour time delay and hefty travel bills. However, she adds, &#8220;I have never felt more secure in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Technology has played a huge part in keeping this couple connected, with daily FaceTime chats to bridge the gap between visits.<\/p>\n<p>When the best man &#8211; Cato&#8217;s brother, Kennet &#8211; \u00a0had to pull out of the wedding two days beforehand due to a severely injured finger, technology even helped him &#8216;attend&#8217; the Hunter Valley nuptials, albeit 16,000 kilometres away.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our celebrant [<a title=\"Anthony Burke The Hunter Celebrant\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/MarriageCelebrant\/HunterNewcastle\/AnthonyBurkeTheHunterCelebrant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anthony Burke<\/a>] suggested we Skype the ceremony,&#8221; says Rosa. &#8220;Cato&#8217;s sister sat with the laptop so Kennet could watch. He even dressed up for it!&#8221; she says.<\/p>\n<p>Where to now for the determined lovers? Rosa&#8217;s off to Norway in September where they hope to confirm their long term plans. &#8220;We know in the end it will work out, we\u2019ll just do what we have to.&#8221;<span style=\"font-size: 14px;
