and it didn\u2019t just rain &#8211; it poured, and ended up being one of the wettest days in November on record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just as she and John, 27, were about to make \u201cthat horrible decision\u201d \u2013 to call the whole thing off \u2013 the sun peeked through the oppressing sky and shone down on their golden colour theme. \u201cWe were all good to go!\u201d says Kayla, who adapted a gown previously made for her mother.<\/p>\n<p>The high school sweethearts have known each other half their lives so when they were engaged at just 20 years old, it was probably not a shock to those who knew them &#8211; but rather that they took another five years to make it to the altar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany people asked us for years when we were actually going to get married\u2026 but we weren\u2019t in any rush,\u201d explains Kayla. \u201cAt the beginning of 2013, we realised that we were in the right stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She adds, \u201cAs I walked down the jetty I saw all of the excited faces of my family and friends and I couldn\u2019t believe they were all here to see us \u2013 these once annoying teenagers taking their next steps in life to becoming husband and wife.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The most anticipated day among their circle of 110 had arrived and the celebrations continued at <a title=\"Mindarie Marina - Easy Weddings\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Perth\/MindarieMarina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mindarie Marina<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56983\" alt=\"Kayla_John_Beach-Wedding_002\" src=\"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Kayla_John_Beach-Wedding_002.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56984\" alt=\"Kayla_John_Beach-Wedding_003\" src=\"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Kayla_John_Beach-Wedding_003.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56985\" alt=\"Kayla_John_Beach-Wedding_004\" src=\"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Kayla_John_Beach-Wedding_004.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a title=\"Dreamscape Wedding &amp;
