{"id":193466,"date":"2015-10-09T14:00:16","date_gmt":"2015-10-09T03:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/dimity-and-ben-hunt-for-trash-n-treasure-at-vintage-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T17:37:15","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T06:37:15","slug":"dimity-and-ben-hunt-for-trash-n-treasure-at-vintage-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/dimity-and-ben-hunt-for-trash-n-treasure-at-vintage-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Dimity and Ben hunt for trash &#8216;n&#8217; treasure at vintage wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">&#8216;Garage sale this Saturday&#8217; \u2013 when your wedding photographer stumbles across this sign, you\u2019re in for a treat.<\/p>\n<p>Dimity Kalaburnis, 28, and Ben Matthews, 27, were pleasantly surprised when they left their\u00a0<a title=\"Sefarino McLaren Vale\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Adelaide\/SerafinoMcLarenVale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Serafino McLaren Vale<\/a>\u00a0wedding ceremony on March 14, 2015 for some off-site photos. \u201cWhen we met up with our photographer we explained we didn&#8217;t want generic wedding shots,\u201d says Dimity. \u201cHe spent the afternoon scoping out areas around the wedding where he stumbled across the garage sale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When photographer Josh took the\u00a0couple to the sale\u00a0on the big day, the vintage wedding theme really came into itself. \u201cI was so excited when we pulled up, it was an old mechanic shed, filled with loads of vintage furniture, pots, books and plants,\u201d smiles Dimity. &#8220;A photographic dream!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The owner came out and was so surprised to see me in a wedding dress! He was so wonderful&#8230; moving things, pointing out ideas and even let us walk across his property.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After paying for a succulent which now sits as a gorgeous reminder on their dining table, Dimity and Ben\u00a0returned to the SA winery to celebrate with their 170 guests. These guests were treated to bomboniere with a difference \u2013 a charitable donation to the <a title=\"Starlight Children's Foundation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/Bomboniere\/Canberra\/StarlightFoundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starlight Children&#8217;s Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The newlyweds also created a take-home marriage box, a \u2018just in case\u2019 for when times might get tough. \u201cWe filled it with our vows, photos, a letter to each other and a bottle of our favourite wine,\u201d says Dimity. \u201cThe purpose is when our marriage encounters some challenging times, we are to open the box, drink the wine and reflect on why we are made for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p
