{"id":191719,"date":"2017-08-05T22:00:09","date_gmt":"2017-08-05T12:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/kiwis-grace-sam-jet-off-port-douglas-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T20:40:06","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T09:40:06","slug":"kiwis-grace-sam-jet-off-port-douglas-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/kiwis-grace-sam-jet-off-port-douglas-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Kiwis Grace and Sam jet off for Port Douglas wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">New Zealanders Grace Hawthorn and Sam Kerrigan crossed &#8220;the ditch&#8221; for their picture-perfect Port Douglas wedding.<\/p>\n<p>The Christchurch couple decided they wanted a <a title=\"7 reasons to have a destination wedding\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/articles\/reasons-destination-wedding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">destination wedding<\/a> with gorgeous weather that they could roll into a romantic honeymoon.<\/p>\n<p>Grace, 25, says she and Sam, 24, planned much of their May 6, 2017 wedding day via email.<\/p>\n<p>Fifty-one of the couple&#8217;s closest friends and family flew over for the big day.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We felt extremely blessed to have so many people make our day. We were married on the boardwalk at the Pullman Port Douglas in a small intimate affair and had our reception in their lagoon view terrace overlooking their amazing pool,&#8221; Grace says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our day was filled with love and laughter and encompassed our personalities perfectly through our love of travel,\u00a0the sun and the beach.
