However this time, Vanessa, 30,\u00a0was the bride, and the wedding was her own.<\/p>\n<p>On March 11, 2017 the &#8220;city girl&#8221; and &#8220;country boy&#8221;\u00a0from rural\u00a0Victoria, said &#8216;I do&#8217; among 70 family and friends at their vintage wedding held at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Melbourne\/CammerayWatersConferenceCentre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cammeray Waters<\/a>\u00a0in the Macedon Ranges.<\/p>\n<p>Though Vanessa&#8217;s father had passed some years before, in spirit he walked her down the aisle, symbolised\u00a0through a brooch attached to her\u00a0wedding shoes containing\u00a0a photo of him on his own wedding day.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Although my dad wasn&#8217;t there to share the most special day with us, that day I inherited a new family, and a new dad,&#8221; says Vanessa.<\/p>\n<p>Vanessa and Chris, 27, kept to their vintage wedding theme with inclusions of vintage suitcases, greenery, and lace. The pair also ordered over one kilometre of fairy lights for their reception, to complete their overall vintage feel.<\/p>\n<p>If given the chance to do it all again, Vanessa says she wouldn&#8217;t change a thing. She advises other couples embarking on the wedding planning journey to refrain from &#8220;spending the year before being nervous.
