{"id":174525,"date":"2018-11-22T19:00:37","date_gmt":"2018-11-22T08:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/melanie-and-jacobs-bittersweet-modern-classic-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-17T03:19:46","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T16:19:46","slug":"melanie-and-jacobs-bittersweet-modern-classic-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/melanie-and-jacobs-bittersweet-modern-classic-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Melanie and Jacob&#8217;s bittersweet modern classic wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">For Melanie and Jacob, aged 26 and 25, their modern classic wedding was a day of smiles, love and lots of tears.<\/p>\n<p>Having lost her father to Pancreatic Cancer in 2017, Melanie says it suddenly hit her that she would never have that beautiful moment of walking down the aisle with her father or having a father-daughter dance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Those are the moments that every father and daughter should experience together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The week before Melanie&#8217;s father died, Jacob asked for his blessing over their marriage. &#8220;Jacob tells me how Dad laughed and replied with &#8216;I don&#8217;t think I can do another wedding quite so soon!'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a bittersweet occasion on August 18, 2018 the Blacktown pair wed before 111 guests at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Sydney\/CrownePlazaHawkesburyValley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Crowne Plaza in Hawkesbury Valley<\/a>, NSW.<\/p>\n<p>Melanie&#8217;s father was included throughout the day, starting with a card written before he&#8217;d passed wishing the pair good luck for their wedding. Foliage from his olive tree and his cufflinks from another daughter&#8217;s wedding featured in Melanie&#8217;s bouquet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It gives me so much warmth to know Dad knew I would marry the
