How We Met:
We met in high school at 15, started dating at 17. JJ was the littlest boy in the year level, and the joker. He and his little group of BMX bandits use to cause such trouble. But somehow we became great friends, and it grew from there.
JJ arranged a flight over Heart Reef, Great Barrier Reef. We then landed on our favourite beach, Whitehaven where he had set up a little picnic.
The dress was the second dress I tried on. It made me tingle I know it was the dress for me!
The hair piece was bought online at etsy.com
JJ´s father is from a Scottish background so kilts where the only option we thought of. Thanks to Anderson Kilt Hire Melbourne.
Beautiful dresses we all chose together made by Dessy. The fitted the girls perfectly and the colours are amazing.
The wedding theme was very vintage and colourful! Nothing matched my tables had old lace tablecloths, the centrepieces where my tea pots. There were also odd wine glasses which I had also collected from op shops along with wine glasses and knick knacks. I made place cards which were covered in colourful designs buttons and a life quote. The guest where given a stubby holder as a thank you. There was also bunting that we made from old material string and a glue gun! Everything had a touch of me to it which is what people seemed to really enjoy.
I just bought 20 bunches of daisies from a local florist. On the Friday the girls and I made up our bunches and all the table settings. I am not a fussy girl!
Ceremony Reception Decor
They were both held at Brian´s house, in his garden. Brian is my maid of honours father who is the most generous man you could ever meet. Brain and his family helped so much! We hired chairs table all from a party hire place.
The boys where in a Torana that Phil (groomsman) had spent months restoring. Well that died during the day so the boys where flying around in the back of a ute! The girls travelled in Phil´s classy car.
Stubby holders which had a picture of a couple four wheel driving.
Cupcakes - all mismatched like the whole theme. About 30 where smashed Friday as the boys picked them up.
Danny - the neighbour bought out his guitar and harmonica! and an iPod. Very relaxed.
We hope to get to Asia next March - Thailand or Vietnam
Well...The cakes where smashed, it was raining, the reception venue lost all water, the house we were getting ready in was double booked, the bus was booked wrong, the Torana broke down, my dresses bow was stepped on and ripped off within 10 minutes of reception, the song i was suppose to walk down the aisle to never played my father and I skipped down the aisle, the gas heaters had no gas, and when we headed off Monday for a few nights in Melbourne our car broke down.
Take everything as it comes, and make sure this day is YOURS not your parents not your bridal parties it´s about you and your partner! We had a lot happen but I kept my calm an all and all it was the best night of my life and when I got down that aisle my best friend was there waiting to become my husband. Things don´t always go as planned (as i know very well) but it´s the people who are there that matter.
