How We Met:

We met through some friends at Tafe.

The Proposal:

We went up to Pete's Parents shack at Hindmarsh Island for our 4th year anniversary. We went out for dinner and had a nice night, to be honest i thought he was going to propse that night and got a little pissy about it. The next day we went go Goolwa beach lookout (as we had done 4 years before on our first weekend away together). We had some yummy chocolates and small bottles of Champagne. Pete had set the camera up to take some couple photos together, after a few photos, he told me to turn around so we can get a photo looking out to sea and when i turned back around to ask why he was taking so long to come over, he was down on one knee with a ring box in his hand, I of course jumped up and down saying yay!! and he said shh i havent said anything yet!". So i have photographic evidence!! :) it was really romantic and honestly the exact way i had always hoped he would propse. He also knows im all about having lots of photos :)"

Wedding Dress:

My dress was from "Jenny & Gerry´s" in adelaide, it was from the essense collection, strapless, tight corset at the top (going down just past my hips) and big puffy dress at the bottom (from just past my hips). It had alot of really nice beading on the left side and down the back. It had a lace up back.

The accessories were very simple. Matching drop earring, necklace and bracelet

Groom's Attire:

Peter bought 7 suits! one for each of his brothers and his dad. His suit was black with a nice blue on the inside, he wore a white shirt and a gold tie

The girls wore long "flowy" column style dresses with a lace up back. 2 of the girls had red dresses and the MOH had a black dress (there is a long story that comes with that)

Wedding Theme:

Our colours were red and gold.

My mother in-law did our flowers, they were goregous roses! I had red roses and the girls had white roses

Ceremony Reception Decor

The ceremony was in a small chapel at St Peter´s Boys College in Adelaide. It has inwards facing pews (like Westminster Abbey). We werent able to put much decoration as we werent allowed to, but we did have 2 vases of flowers. The reception was held at Peter´s Parents house where we had 2 large marquees set up with tulle and fairy lights in them. We also had lanterns and candles scattered around the garden. The tables had white table clothes with red table runners and the chairs had white chair covers with red satin sashes. Our centrepieces on the tables where vases with gold candles in them, with a red ribbon around the vase, we didnt have too much decoration as it was a cocktail style dinner, so there weren´t at table settings

We hired to grey Audi´s!! We both love Audi´s!

We had a lolly bar filled with everyones favourite lollies and chocolate

The cake was made by my mother in-law, it was a gorgeous 3 tier mud chocolate cake, surrounded by shards of white chocolate with red and gold ribbons

We spend 2 heavnly weekend in Phuket at Serenity Resort, it was in Rawai, about 30-40 mins away from Patong and an hour away from the airport. it is a goregous place for a honeymoon! it is far out of the way of the noise and bustle of Patong (and the smell!!) although the beach at the front of the hotel isnt really for swimming, they do have a lovely pool (we also had a room with our own private pool!) and they offer a shuttle bus to a lovely swimming beach 15 mins away, the shuttle also takes you to Patong each night and picks you up again.

Special Moments:

The whole day was one big special moment. One of the most memorable parts of the day was probably our first dance (to Unchained Melody by the Rightoues brothers), neither of dance and we hadnt planned one but we got talked into it by our family (peer pressure!!). It was more of a shuffle but it was really romantic and it was made so much nicer when our family and guests joined in to shuffle along with us.

Dont stress, things will go wrong, you just need to think of the marriage ahead of you not just the day! Breathe and stay calm and try to have fun! Everyone will tell you to try to stop and take it all in, but its impossible to stop, everything is go go go!! Make sure to take lots and lots of photos. Or get family/friends/the photographer to do it.
