How We Met:

3.30am Sunday 17th June 2007 - I had come out to Surfers to be a taxi for my friend, and was waiting him to come out of Macca's. I was sitting outside, half asleep, wearing jeans, a big fluffy jumper & slippers then this random tall guy (Sean) walked up to me. The first words he said were That jumper looks warm

The Proposal:

can I have a hug?" I hadn't heard that line before

Wedding Dress:

thought it was hilarious and gave him a hug. We started chatting

Accessories:

and before we knew it

Groom's Attire:

over an hour had passed. My friend came out and was whispering in my ear "he's cute!" When it was time to go our seperate ways

Sean asked for my number and I turned him down

Wedding Theme:

but said that I would take his and decide whether or not I wanted to call him! A few days later I sent him a message

Flowers:

and it it grew from there! He was down from Cairns for part of his apprenticeship

and went back shortly after

Transport:

so I didn't get to see him for a while but we were on the phone for hours on end every night."

Bomboniere:

Sean had dropped many hints - during one of my visits to Cairns he dropped the very obvious hint of taking me to a jewellery store to visit a family friend" and asking me what I thought of different jewellery in the display cases! Later I decided that I was going to make the move to Cairns for a fresh start and take a chance on love! Sean flew down to help me pack and drive my car up

Cake:

and after I met him at the airport he proposed to me in the middle of Brisbane airport carpark!"

Entertainment:

I made my dress - ivory chiffon over satin, soft and flowing with a band under the bust and thin gold piping bordering the band. The bodice had an extra layer of fabric - ivory and gold embroidered silk, and straps that crossed over at the back

Honeymoon:

Headpiece with bridcage veil made from offcuts of my dress fabric and inspired by my flowers (calla lillies & phaelenopsis orchids) made by a local millier, freshwater pearl & gold beaded jewellery made by my mum

Special Moments:

Black tux with satin trim, black vest, with ivory shirt and ivory tie, gold cufflinks

Tips:

Red satin and chiffon dresses with soft flower feature, halter neck and straps on the back that were in a V shape, chiffon tie around the waist. Black shoes, accessories and knit wraps. My daughter (flowergirl) had colour matched dress but had gold shoes and cardigan.
