How We Met:

Nathan and I were in the same grade at school from grade 8 until Grade 12, but it wasn't until each of our groups of friends joined into one at the start of year 12 - we are high school sweethearts.

The Proposal:

One Thursday night, I arrived home from work and as I walked through our front door, Nathan was on one knee. There were candles lit all around the house and our favourite song was playing in the background. He had written a poem and the last line read 'Will you be my wife?'

Wedding Dress:

My wedding dress was a Sottero & Midgley full A Line gown with corset closure. It was satin, featured a fully gathered skirt and had hidden pockets in the side seams. It had a band and bow detail with beaded motif and was diamond white and pearl in colour.

My accessories included pearl earrings, pearl hair pins and a pearl bracelet and my shoes were white mid height heels.

Groom's Attire:

The groom wore a cream coloured suit consisiting of the pants, vest and jacket with a white shirt and ivory tie and hank. We had also purchased cufflinks that said 'Groom'.

The bridesmaids wore a lime green Mr K long length chiffon gown with slip on shoes and pearl bracelets.

Wedding Theme:

The theme we chose was a simple but elegant Island and pearl theme. Our colours were mainly green and pink.

The flowers I chose were tulips as they are simple and elegant. I had ivory tlips whilst my bridesmaids had pink tulips.

Ceremony Reception Decor

The recepiton room was decorated perfectly! Instead of table numbers, we had bought block words with messages on them (e.g Memories, Family, Love). Our wishing well was actually a treasure chest and was decorated with pearls and starfish. The table decorations included a brown table runner with a hurricane vase which were surroundered by sand, starfish, shells and pearls.

Nathan and his groomsmen arrived to the Marina in a white 7 seater limousine, they then boarded the catamaran with the Wedding guests. Myself and my bridesmaids also took the limousine but we departed from Sea World Nara Resort by sea plane.

The bomboniere were small plastic bottles with cork lids filled with mini floral lollies. I glued small netting around the bottom and tied their name tag around the top, so they also acted as place cards.

The cake was a 3 tier mudcake, decoarted in starfish and sea shells. The top and bottom tier were white chocolate whilst the middle tier was chocolate. We also had small block letters K & N acting as the cake topper.

Our entertainment was recommended by the venue, it was a two piece band called Nuthin Betta and they were fantastic! They took control of the whole night including the first dance, garter and bouquet toss, and their music suited all of our guests. We would definitely highly recommend them.

We honeymooned on Toberua Island in Fiji and it was fantastic! The food was terrific, the staff were extremely friendly and the views are just to die for, we would definitely return!

Special Moments:

Arriving in the sea plane knowing my husband to be was only metres away awaiting my arrival.

Don't go over the top with detail, you won't even notice it all on the day. Let your friends and fmaily deal with any issues on the day, you want to be kept as calm as possible. also, enjoy the photography time with just you and your new husband, this is the most special time of all.
