How We Met:

We met whilst working at the same company in 2007. We started our as just friends for a few months, but it wasn't long until we both fell totally in love with each other and wanted to spend every moment together - both at work and at home! In July 2009 we welcomed our beautiful son Mitchell into our lives, who we are so happy was able to share our wedding day with us. We have recently built and moved into our dream home which we share with our much loved cat and two dogs.

The Proposal:

Tony proposed to me in the gardens on the top of Mount Dandenong. He came home from work one day and announced that we were going for a drive. He didn't even bother changing his clothes so I knew it had to be important! The whole drive there I knew something was up, but I wasn´t entirely sure so I just enjoyed the suspense instead of questioning him! When we arrived, we got out and sat in the gardens at Sky High and enjoyed the panoramic views of Melbourne and its surrounds for a while. The next thing I knew he was down on one knee with my beautiful engagement ring held out before him, asking me if I would make him the happiest man on earth! There was absolutely no hesitation in my reply! So we became engagement to be married from that moment! (He asked my Dad's permission first of course!)

Wedding Dress:

My dress was designed by Rose Elise Couture. It was the first dress I tried on and I knew it was the one instantly! I wanted a princess, yet classic style that had something unique that set it apart from other wedding dresses. So this dress was perfect! The champagne sash and French lace bodice gave it a timeless elegance, and the tulle skirt allowed me to move with grace on the day.

Accessories:

I wore pearl drop earrings and a matching bracelet that were custom made for me by Bliss Design. My shoes were made from champagne coloured silk and designed by Alan Pinkus. I also wore my great-grandmother's engagement ring on the day as my something old.

Groom's Attire:

Tony wore a light grey pinstriped suit with a white shirt, champagne vest, champagne and ivory striped tie to match the colour of the sash on my dress and our son's suit. His shoes and belt were a medium brown colour, which looked perfect for our garden style wedding.

Bridesmaids

My beautiful junior bridesmaids chose their own dresses because we chose not to have a full bridal party. They wore beautiful pale pink, knee length dresses with ribbon detail around the waistline. Wedding Theme: Our wedding was a Romantic Garden Wedding theme with a soft and romantic champagne as our colour scheme.

Flowers:

My bouquet consisted of tulips and roses, which was a combination of my all-time favourite flower & the flower that symbolizes romance. I chose a teardrop design with white, champagne & pink as the colours.

Ceremony Reception Decor

Our ceremony was going to be held in the gardens before a waterfall, however due to poor weather it was held in the wedding chapel of Chateau Wyuna. We certainly weren´t disappointed! The chapel seats were decorated with white flowers and rose petals were scattered down the red carpeted aisle. The tables in our reception were decorated with champagne table runners and fish bowl centrepieces that featured floating candles and flowers. Our bridal table had a beautiful fresh arrangement of white and champagne flowers. Each of the chairs had a champagne sash, even our son´s highchair!

Transport:

We decided to cut costs by using our own cars for the transport. I arrived in Tony's Honda Legend, which was decorated with a champagne heart ribbon.

Bomboniere:

Each guest was given a thank-you card with chocolate hearts.

Cake:

Our exquisite wedding cake was created by Special Treats by Carolyn. It was a two-tier design with a rendered finish. The bottom tier was chocolate mud flavour and the top tier was caramel swirl. It was decorated with champagne coloured sugar tulips and roses. We also had incredibly impressive custom made cake toppers of the bride, groom and our son. They were made to match our appearance and outfits perfectly! This was the one aspect of our wedding day that I allowed Tony to have full control over! I think he managed wonderfully!

Entertainment:

Our entertainment was provided by the staff at our venue. We gave them a play list of our favourite songs, which were played as background and dancing music for our reception.

Honeymoon:

We were lucky enough to spend a week at the sunny Gold Coast directly after the wedding, which was the most relaxing and refreshing break! We stayed at an incredibly luxurious resort that had its own cocktail bar, restaurant, in-room massage therapist, indoor and outdoor pool area, watersides and our room also had a full view of the ocean. It was the first time that we had a holiday without our little boy, so whilst we missed him terribly, it was a fantastic way to enjoy just being together to celebrate our new lives as husband and wife.

Special Moments:

Simply walking into the chapel & looking down the aisle at the man who was going to become my husband on that day was an incredibly special moment. I honestly felt as if we were falling in love all over again! Another special moment was at the reception when Tony, Mitchell (our son) and I had a dance together on the dance floor. It was the only moment that the three of us had to ourselves and it was lovely just to reflect and soak up the atmosphere.

Tips:

Enjoy every single moment during the lead-up and planning of your wedding! Some of the best wedding memories we have were the exciting trips out to the venue, dress and suit fittings, cake taste testing, meetings with photographers and rehearsals with our celebrant. No amount of planning can prevent something not happening exactly as you dreamed. So if something doesn´t happen as you thought, don't worry about it, because you simply won't have the time! Your wedding day will go by in the blink of an eye, so make sure you grasp onto every moment and treasure it!
