How We Met:

I was working as a Physiotherapist at his football club, while I was still at University. He was the most injured player on the team! The rest is history...

The Proposal:

It was 10/10/10 in the Chinese Gardens in Darling Harbour. I had been at his sister's Hens Party all weekend and was very tired! But he insisted we were going out to dinner in Darling Harbour. On the walk down to Darling Harbour he managed to drop the ring, spoiling the surprise! We ended up in the Chinese Gardens, but I wouldn't let him get down on one knee until the Gardens were closing as all the people were leaving. I didn't want to attract too much attention! Eventually he did propose with an amazing ring that was the perfect fit! The suprise that I got on my Wedding Day, was that he had paid 2 photographers to follow us at the engagement! His gift to me was a photo album of the proposal!! (If only I hadn't been so tired and surly that day...)

Wedding Dress:

My dress was by Henry Roth 'Zoe'. I bought it from Vision in White in Parramatta. I had some minor alterations done to add cap sleeves. It wasn't the type of dress I thought I would end up in, but once I saw the Polka Dots, I was hooked! It was just a light and fun dress!

I wore yellow gold and pearl drop earrings and matching pendant. I also wore a pearl bracelet with a Aquamarine pendant (my Mum's) attached. This was my something blue. I love purple, so I hid bright purple heels under my dress!

Groom's Attire:

David hired a traditional Black suit from Spurling. He also wore an Ivory vest and tie to match my dress. I bought him and his groomsman purple socks as a surprise!

I only had one Bridesmaid. She chose an Alfred Angelo dress, strapless with a sweetheart neckline. It also had an Ivory sash that joined as a small bow at the front of the dress. She bought amazing shoes from Miu Miu!

Wedding Theme:

The theme/colour was Purple and Polka Dots.

Posy style, casual not too big featuring ivory roses, pink roses, white/cream freesias, grey dusty miller foliage and lilac peonies. My grandmother gave me a garland she had worn at her wedding in the 1950s, so I also had individually wired beading placed in bouquet as a highlight.

Ceremony Reception Decor

The ceremony was at St Peter Chanel's Church in Woolwich. We had decorations with white tulle and purple ribbon on a few pews, along with two big vases of flowers on stands at the front. The reception was at Star Room, Darling Harbour. It was a daytime reception, so we kept decorations to a minimum, so guests could enjoy the view instead. We did have purple table runners and chair sashes on white covers. We also had small round mirrors as centrepieces, with fishbowl vases and small posies of flowers in each.

We had a stretch Limo from All Districts Limousines. As there were only 4 of us in the Bridal Party, it was nice that we could stay in the one car between venues.

My Mum had passed away from secondary Breast Cancer 6 months prior, so we bought Pink Ribbons and attached them to a card that said: In lieu of a traditional bonbonniere

we have made a donation to an organisation that is close to our hearts

the National Breast Cancer Foundation.""

We had two cakes. The first was a 2 tier dark chocolate mud cake by Doy's Cake. It was so yummy! The second was a Gluten Free Mud Cake, from Gourmet Cake Express, as we had a number of guests with gluten allergies.

Special Moments:

We have always loved a band call U2 Elevation". The same group also perform as an genral Rock Cover Band. So they performed 3 x 45min sets at the Reception. They were fabulous and played a large range of music!"

Margaret River in WA, for wine tasting and relaxation!
