We spoke to our amazing receptionist, Shannon, about her experience, why she loves working at Easy Weddings and her gorgeous staffy, Boomer!
What do you do at Easy Weddings?
I am the receptionist here at Easy Weddings, but also a part of our Marketing and Branding specialist team.
I spend most of my time creating the storefronts for our new suppliers. This involves searching their websites, Facebook pages, Instagrams and other social media for great content.
Part of my role here at Easy Weddings also includes being the first point of contact for our amazing suppliers and couples, trying to answer any questions they may throw my way.
What did you do before you joined Easy Weddings?
I worked in real estate as an all rounder assisting the sales department. My role, while prominently in reception/admin, also involved helping out a bit in accounts as well as marketing (creating flyers, letter drops, and a monthly magazine).
Before that, I studied Events at William Angliss and worked as an Event Assistant at a Melbourne venue, Alumbra. I also worked for a not-for-profit charity organisation Bully Zero, assisting in their annual ball at Etihad Stadium.
What are the most common questions you get from couples/suppliers?
Being the first point of contact means I get a variety of questions on a daily basis! Suppliers mostly ask questions regarding the CRM, WedCRM, and how it works, or call in for advice on their images or how to respond to enquiries.
What do you like most about working at EW?
I am a bride-to-be myself, who uses Easy Weddings almost daily to plan my own wedding. The planning tools are so helpful. It’s great to work for a company where you love the product.
I also love the office culture. Easy Weddings is a forever growing company with many departments but at the end of the day, we are all a big team. Being a part of the Easy Weddings team makes it that little bit easier to get up in the morning, and that’s all you can really ask for.
What’s something we don’t know about you?
I’m pretty laid back when it comes to my personal life. Family and friends are so important to me. At the end of the day, I just look forward to going home to my fiance and my fur baby. I have a beautiful blue staffy and his name is Boomer, named after the legendary AFL player Brent ‘Boomer’ Harvey. He is 9 months old and thinks he is a human.
