Your wedding animal based on your star sign

Wedding animals are one of our favourite trends at the moment. They’re super cute, make for some amazing photo opportunities, and of course, bring a bit of fun into your day.

Everyone has a favourite animal (or two) and we want to be able to match these up with your big day. So if you’re thinking about involving animals on your big day, here are our suggestions!

We’ve taken a look at the most common wedding animals as well as different zodiac personality traits to make a match made in heaven!

Aries – March 21 to April 19

While the zodiac symbol for Aries may be a ram, they don’t quite make good wedding guests. Instead, take a look at a venue with some resident deer for your special day!

Aries are hopeful, curious and energetic and a collection of stunning deer on your day will make for some gorgeous wedding photos.

Deer are also a great animal to get your guests and family involved, depiste being a little bit cheeky!

Taurus – April 20 to May 20

The zodiac symbol for the Taurus is a bull, so it makes sense that your wedding animal match is going to be the wedding cow.

Dependent but stubborn, Taurus’ can also be incredibly patient. Cows may not seem like a romantic or logical decision, but when you find the perfect farm-style venue and wait for the golden light to hit over the sunset then the tables turn. Cows can make for a gorgeous Australiana addition to your big day.

Gemini – May 21 to June 21

Gemini’s are traditionally symbolised by twins, and in this case, we’ve paired them with an animal that appears at many weddings in different forms. We’re talking about dogs of course!

Weddings dogs are a huge trend in themselves and we have seen so many different breeds of dogs embracing their wedding day duties in different ways. From the diligent ring bearer to the centre-of-attention furbaby, you can hire a dog to bring to your wedding or bring your own.

Here’s a great example of two different dogs taking their duties differently!

Cancer – June 22 to July 22

With a gentle, caring and swift nature giraffes are one of the sweetest souls in the animal kingdom. Like the zodiac sign Cancer, they have a more sensitive nature and as such are prone to a stronger sixth sense. Which is what makes giraffes so good at fleeing predators!

There are many zoo venues that offer stunning wedding function spaces for your big day and can give you some photo opportunities and experiences you won’t soon forget.

Leo – July 23 to August 22

Another photo experience and animal you wouldn’t naturally expect to be at your wedding is the Leo lion.

Lions and Leos are proud, enthusiastic and willful. Which makes them the perfect pairing if you’re just as strong-willed and know exactly what you want for your big day. Plus, as a Leo your natural animal sign is already a lion so it works completely.

Though we’re betting that this lioness was a bit put out by not being invited to the party afterwards!

Virgo – August 23 to September 22

Virgo’s are traditionally practical, elegant and perfectionists in everything that they do. Your wedding is going to be planned to perfection! And part of that could involve horses.

Whether it’s a horse and carriage ride, a venue with resident horses, or your own horse, you’ll find comfort in these gentle animals.

Horses are elegant creatures but they can also be quite curious which can get them into all kinds of situations! If you’re a Virgo this might sound familiar.

Libra – September 23 to October 23

If you’re a Libra you share a star sign with celebrities including Oscar Wilde and Hillary Duff. But you also share your personality traits with one of the most popular wedding animals at the moment. Alpacas!

Alpacas are widely popular as wedding guests at the moment. Whether you’re finding a venue with some alpacas on board or hiring them to come to you, they make for a great addition to your wedding. Not only are they charming, artistic, beautiful and kind-hearted like the Libra, they also have amazing social skills!

Though watch out when it comes to photo time because Libras and Alpacas can sometimes be a tad narcissistic, like this fellow!

Scorpio – October 24 to November 22

The typical animal to represent a Scorpio is a scorpion. But let’s face it, scorpions don’t make for the greatest wedding guests.

Scorpio’s are known to be mysterious, rational, intelligent and self-willed. What animal do we know to be this independent but still make for a great and loveable pet? Cats of course!

With the rise of wedding dogs, more couples are now bringing their cats into the equation when it comes to their big day. Because why should they miss out?

Sagittarius – November 23 to December 21

If you’re a fan of Alpacas but want something a bit bigger then why not opt for a wedding llama? And if you’re a Sagittarius then it makes for a natural choice.

Llamas are lively, beautiful and optimistic like their alpaca cousins, but they’re also known to be incredibly rational choices for pack and guide animals around the world. They’ll match your optimistic but rational nature as a Sagittarius.

Capricorn – December 22 to January 19

Capricorn babies are those born over Christmas and New Year and often symbolise optimism for the new beginnings that this time brings. However, despite being intelligent, practical, reliable, generous, cute and persistent, they can sometimes be a bit stubborn. Which is why the symbol for Capricorns is a goat – and why their wedding animal is the same!

Ever happy to be part of the wedding photos, goats make for a great wedding guest. As long as there’s food around!

Aquarius – January 20 to February 18

With their symbol being a water carrier, you might be confused about our next choice of wedding animal. But camels are known for being water carriers themselves!

Another member of the llamoid family, camels are extremely practical like their zodiac counterparts. They’re independent and smart, but also calm and friendly.

If you’re having a wedding in the outback, desert or on the beach a wedding camel could be a unique and stunning addition to your day. Or if you can’t get the real thing, opt for some cute golden camel decor.

Pisces – February 19 to March 20

Last but absolutely not least are the Pisces. To celebrate Pisces always being at the end of the zodiac calendar, we’ve chosen a night owl as the wedding animal of choice. Literally!

Owls are gorgeous at weddings. We’ve seen some fabulous moments where owls have swopped in to deliver the rings when called upon. Regardless of whether you have an owl as your ringbearer or not, they’re dedicated and have a stunning aesthetic to add to your perfect day.
