Former child star turned pop singer Miley Cyrus is the talk of Tinseltown after becoming engaged this week - at the tender age of just 19.
Miley, whose role as TV's Hannah Montana turned her into a teen starlet in 2006, is set to marry her boyfriend of three years, Aussie Hunger Games hunk, Liam Hemsworth.
Miley met Liam, 22, on the set of the 2009 romance The Last Song and, when asked by People magazine how she felt about being engaged, her response was an enthusiastic “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."
She later tweeted, “Thank you for all the love today. I’m happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true."
Miley's Dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, has said he's delighted his little girl is engaged, but he does have reservations about her age and told HollywoodLife.com "All I ever hoped for as a daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams. To find happiness, peace of mind, and someday know true love."
People magazine reports Liam popped the question on May 31 with a handcrafted, $100,000 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane.
Though no date has been set, Miley's thrilled with her engagement, tweeting, "Heaven is a place on earth" the next day.
She added to that in the past few days, tweeting "I love you more today than yesterday but I love you less today than I will tomorrow," and again, "Life is beautiful."
