Parlour is about celebrating life, love and fun. Located in the stunning historic former Acton House, Parlour has been the lighthouse of the New Acton precinct since opening in March 2008. Parlour features art deco colonial-style decor, regal furnishings, a spacious interior and a dreamy sun-soaked patio. Parlour is located inside one of Canberra’s most revered historic buildings, the heritage-listed 1927 Hotel Acton. A thriving restaurant known for serving up delicious shared plates and gorgeous cocktails, Parlour is a magnificent ceremony and reception venue. Yes!  The John Avery gardens are available for couples to have their ceremony in. We can arrange Furniture for guests to sit on and book the Gardens for your day. They are available depending on events that happen in the Precinct, so be sure to ask us about the specific dates that apply.

Parlour was the perfect venue for our wedding reception – fun and full of music and life. It’s a stunning venue with divine décor, wonderful staff and delicious food, opening out onto lovely gardens. Our guests could mingle and lounge in the beautiful armchairs or dance to the band while being served delicious tapas. Their lovely functions manager looked after us beautifully and we loved the complimentary tasting beforehand so we could choose our tapas and wines. We highly recommend Parlour for weddings and functions. Thank you Parlour for a fabulous wedding!

Parlour was the perfect venue for our relaxed and fun wedding. The venue, the food, the wine, the service and the vibe were all superb. If you are looking for a wedding location that oozes old world charm with a twist of modern flair, I could not recommend The Parlour enough. What an exceptionally beautiful venue, perfect to entertain family and friends alike in. With the option to have a traditional sit down wedding or cocktail style event, the Parlour truly caters to all tastes. With quirky chesterfield lounges, high top tables and aesthetic decor, the venue creates such an intimate and cozy atmosphere. It is most definitely unique and a stand out from other typical Canberran wedding hot spots. The manager Abby was a dream to work with. No question was too annoying or dietary requirement too difficult to accommodate. The reception we held here oozed class that not only made us all feel right at home, but left guests talking in all the right ways. We were kept well fed and looked after in every possible way throughout the day. I am truly grateful that there was availability on the day that I requested and I was able to celebrate in the venue of my dreams. The Tyrrell-Walker family and friends will cherish our Sunday afternoon here.

Such an easy, fun venue. The staff absolutely made the night they were easy to work with and made everything so special. From the set up to the food and drinks everything was done beautifully and with care. Would highly recommend especially if you are looking for a minimal fuss day with great food and great wine.

My partner and I had our wedding reception here in March 2024 and couldn't be happier. The venue manager, Ben was incredibly helpful from start to finish and accommodated our every request where possible. Ben and his staff went above and beyond to ensure that evening ran as smooth as possible and was attentive to us and all of our guests. The food was delicious, the service was immaculate and the vibes were great. Highly recommend Parlour as a wedding venue. Kudos to Ben and his team.

What happens if Covid forces lockdown on the week of our wedding?

Parlour

Covid is a tough time but we are pretty good at navigating it now.

At Parlour we like to give you peace of mind that if cancelation, postponement or a massive decrease in numbers due to covid restrictions effects your event you will not be out of pocket.

Cancellation (prior to 7 days to the event) - we will return all money paid towards the event.

Postponement - any money paid towards the event will get transferred to the new date.

Decrease in numbers but date stays the same we can negotiate a new minimum spend (reachable with affected numbers).
