This green oasis is located in the heart of Camperdown in Sydney’s vibrant Inner West. With wide open spaces, and an urban farm, it provides a picturesque backdrop for your event. Camperdown Commons offers unique indoor and outdoor spaces to bring your event to life without having to leave the city.
Our event menus consist of seasonal produce and packages to suit every occasion. With options for canapé, set-menus or share-style dining.
The various spaces within Camperdown Commons range from large open spaces to more intimate private rooms:
The Common Pavilion and Courtyard is the perfect location for a wedding, event or celebration, providing both undercover and outdoor spaces to mingle with your guests for canapés and cocktails, or it can be styled as a seated event, overlooking the farm.
The Common Room with its undercover deck suits a more intimate experience, whether it be for a business meeting, a small family event, birthday celebration or engagement party.
Enjoy the open air of The Patio as you mingle with your guests over cocktails and canapes. In the evening watch as twilight falls over the commons and lights up the sky. Suitable for canapé functions and small intimate gatherings.
The Deck is perfect for those more relaxed events, where you just want to catch up with the family and friends over good food and drinks, overlooking the farm and be closer to nature. It is a great wet weather option as it is completely covered allowing for your function to go ahead regardless of the season.
For larger events, The Dining Room is the optimal location. Surrounded by windows overlooking the vibrant grounds & a calm ambience this space suits a variety of experiences. The perfect setting for the wedding of your dreams, with space to cater up to 100 guests seated or up to 250 guests cocktail style, plus there’s room for a dancefloor, DJ or band.

Hi there,
thank you for your question.
Weddings, we hold in our outdoor spaces, are beautiful. The farm and all greenary around creates great backdrop as well as rustic vibe in an oasis in the city.
However, there are few pitfalls to be aware of:
# Weather is definitelly the most unpredictible and unavoidable factor. Despite most of our outdoor spaces being under cover, the rainy weather cuts of a bit of the space and outdoor wedding vibe.
# Since Camperdown Commons are located in residential area, we have noice restrictions to follow. All events in outdoor spaces must finish by 10pm (12pm indoors) and no amplified live music is allowed, only accoustic music. Whereas you can have DJ or band playing in the Dining Room (our indoor space).
The outdoor spaces are great for casual cocktail style weddings, however if you prefer slightly more formal setup and party, I'd definitelly recomend the Dining Room.
