J.B. Dance QLD is a Brisbane dance studio led by two Dancesport Australia accredited coaches, Blair & Jane. These impressive teachers have a combined 20+ years of experience, and have won many awards for their fancy footwork - so they’re certainly qualified to teach you to dance. Whether you have two left feet or are a competitive dancer, these two will teach you to dance in your preferred style.
Whether you’re a regular Beyonce on the dancefloor or your moves could use a little finetuning, J.B. Dance QLD is here to help you prepare for your first dance as newlyweds. Owned and operated by Blair and Jane, two seasoned dancers with numerous accolades to their names, this exceptional, Brisbane-based dance company will take your desired first dance song and choreograph a fun, exciting routine to go along with it.
If you’ve picked a romantic song (hello, Ed Sheeran!), you might like to learn a captivating ballroom routine. Or - if you’re hoping for something a little less traditional and much more high energy - perhaps you’d like to request a medley of songs. This way you can show off your killer dance moves and impressive rhythm - hey, if you’ve got it, flaunt it.
Blair and Jane can teach you a lovely first dance routine regardless of whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced dancer, and would enjoy helping you learn something new - especially if you’re after Latin, new vogue, or ballroom dancing.

About
Blair has been dancing since the age of 8 years old. From a very sporty family with two older Brothers Blair was outside the mold becoming a Ballroom and Latin American dancer. Never having known any different Blair has competed since the age of 9 years old and been a full time dance teacher since the age of 18. Blair loves dancing and loves to see the joy that dance can bring to others.

FAQ
For your first lesson all we ask is that you come with a awesome excited attitude a willingness to learn and the song that you would like to dance to. We can use spotify and other software to find your song so just an idea of what song you would like to dance to. If you have no idea we can also help with that. We do not need you to wear your shoes or clothes that you will be wearing for the wedding. Wear something comfortable you can move in. We may later down the track ask you to wear your shoes, if you are not use to wearing heels for example. Other than that we just want you to come along and let us do the rest!
We usually recommend 8-10 weeks out from the wedding if you are looking at doing six lessons if you are doing more than that we recommend two weeks more than the amount of lessons you are going to be doing. We are also open to doing as many lessons as you like, some people come for a year of lessons before their wedding dance it is completely up to you and how comfortable you want to be when you enter that floor for your first dance.
If you have never danced before then doing something on that dance floor is going to amaze your guests. How much you can amaze them depends on how much you do. We recommend 6 lessons for those that have never danced before as this gives a good amont of time to learn the routine that you are going to do to your chosen song and then gives your teacher enough time to critique and give you a little about the technique and posture etc that is needed to make your dance look great! We have never found someone we can't teach to dance.
You can bring up to four people to your lessons for the same price. To add extra people its another $5 per person. So include your entire Bridal Party in your first dance!
