No, we don't as we believe all weddings are different. We love to chat to our couples over the phone and tailor quote to suit them.

Yes, absolutely! We find this is absolutely necessary whether a Wedding Planner or a Wedding Day Coordinator. We want to ensure we are all over it so you can relax without a care in the world on your wedding day.

Jen, Solstice's director, has been in the event industry for 7 years, beginning at Merivale and taking on the exciting challenge of starting up The Wild Side and now Solstice Events.

We love working one-on-one with our clients and really want them to feel involved in the process. We will take on as little or as much as they choose. Our clients will make the final decisions, no matter if they hire us for wedding planning or wedding day coordination.

I highly recommend the services provided by Jen at Solstice Events for any type of special event in your life! I work in events for a day job, so when it came to planning my own wedding, I knew I was going to be picky with engaging the services of a wedding coordinator. I was confident in planning and procuring vendors, though I wanted a wedding co-ordinator to do all the follow up in the weeks leading up and manage any issues and the runsheet on the day - and Jen did it all with grace, poise - and (most importantly) good humour! The packages Jen offers are flexible and pricing structure reasonable for the peace of mind it provides! Whether you're after someone to do all the research and planning - or someone to just to help out on the day - Jen has it all!

Hiring Jen was one of the best decisions we made when organising our wedding! Her outstanding contribution on the big day was very much needed. Handling quite a few aspects of our DIY wedding from the music to the decorations or organising vendors and guests to getting us glasses of bubbly! Like most people, organising a wedding isn’t an everyday task and was quite daunting but having that fountain of knowledge and experience on your side is a huge plus. Not to mention her taking over communications with vendors the two weeks prior just gave us the chance to take it all in and not be stressed in the lead up. Jen is very good at her job as well as passionate about making your day the best it can be for you and your guests. She really exceeded my expectations and we would highly recommend Solstice Events!

We meet Jen at the South Coast wedding fair and for the get go we knew we had met someone who was committed to helping us have the best wedding Possible. Prior to the wedding Jen did an amazing job of not only making sure everything was sorted and organised but keeping both my partner and I, sane and looking forward to our big day. On our wedding day Jen was there making sure everything was running as planning and organised and if something needed to be fixed or sorted she managed it amazingly! There was some technical issues that happened prior to the ceremony that could have been disastrous, but Jen was able to rectify them seamlessly with us being none the wiser! She really looked after us and our wedding would not have been half as amazing without her. Thank you so much Jen!!!

Advice for getting married at an AirBnB

We’re hoping to get married at an Air BnB - and make a wedding weekend out of it. Are there any logistical things that we need to think about that would be different from getting married at a traditional wedding venue? Things we need to consider?

Hi there!

Definitely a good question to ask! A few thinigs you need to consider are:

- does the Airbnb allow events. This is something I would be careful with because you wouldn't want someone shutting down your wedding

- if events are allowed, do they allow live music, is there a certain decibal you need to stick to etc. (this can also happen at wedding venues)

- what is the parking situation, will you need to organise buses for your guests (consider turning circles for larger buses)

- accessible bathrooms and are there enough bathroom facilities for your group size. If a larger property you can always bring some mobile bathrooms in.

- you will need to bring in all furniture, tableware, styling items (this can also happen at wedding venues)

- there may be restrictions on what styling items you can bring in (i.e. hanging fairy lighting and installations) 

- you may need to bring in catering equipment if the kitchen doesn't cater to what your caterer needs (this however can also happen at wedding venues)

It is definitely doable and can make for an AMAZING dday however ensure you consider the above.

Is it necessary or traditional to buy your wedding suppliers thank you gifts?

I wasn't sure whether this is a tradition of some kind? If so, what kind of gift would be appropriate and how much?

Hi there! Definitely not! Depending on your relationship with your supplier you may want to get them a gift to say thank you however most wedding suppliers just would love a great review :D A few samples of gifts, could be a bottle of wine or just nice little trinkets like bath salts, tea, candles. One of my clients just sent me a bottle of tequila (because she knows I love margaritas) and a beautifull card but as I said it is not necessary or traditional to do so. I hope that helps!

Someone who I care about, but wasn't invited to the wedding, has asked to come and watch the ceremony

Hi there, I think if you care about them and would have wanted them there (but can't due to restrictions) it is absolutely fine! Just ensure your ceremony venue can hold the additional person(s). They just want to watch you walk down the aisle and congratulate you :)
