Expert Advice

As a wedding professional, Destination Weddings WA offers expert advice to help couples plan their perfect day. Ask a question or read their expert advice.

Idea's for the day after your wedding with your guests?

We help brides with this as part of planning services especially if there are alot of guests travelling. We often organise BBQ's (either in backyards or a park somewhere) or different options such as grazing tables, winery tour/lunch or a food truck, depending on how many people you want to cater for.

Where should I focus my budget?

Focus your budget on the things that matter to you. If the venue is the most important thing (such as location etc), focus your budget there. If decor and floral arrangements are the most important and the location of these are secondary importance, focus your budget there. We often get clients to list their most important items as well as inspo pics so we can determine how their budget should be allocated.

What are typical budgets for a wedding?

Hi, this is definitley dependant on what you are expecting for your wedding. We have planned weddings with a budget of $5000 up to over $200,000 for 500 people so it is definitely relative. We usually get an idea of budget from our clients as well as their vision and see how close we can get to have the best of both worlds.

I'm eloping with my partner and 2 friends. What can we do to make the day memorable after?

Hi, for my couples that elope, I usually organise a private dinner (in this instance with your friends) in the hotel restaurant, beachfront, cliff face etc to celebrate.

Most couples also add a Honeymoon package at their chosen destination so we can organise a mini holiday for your friends at the same time.

I find most couples that elope are looking for a wow factor ceremony destination that result in stunning photographs so we definitely recommend having a photographer there even if its just the 4 of you!

Can you plan a wedding in eight months?

Hi! We often have brides plan weddings in less than 12 months, we've planned one in 3 weeks for a bride who's circumstances have changed (both locally and as a destination wedding).

Can definitely be done - even in peak season months.
