Hi there! I’m Lauren & I am a passionate planner, designer & stylist of Weddings and Celebrations. This year I created Meraki Unique Celebrations, which is the culmination of a long-held dream for me.
I grew up in Melbourne and have always loved planning parties & events. I love how creative I get to be & especially the look on the guests faces as they arrive! I have an addiction to baking cakes and planning the ultimate kids party! I love the WOW Factor in planning an event.
I decided to finally follow my passion in 2018 when I joined The Wedding Academy. I have never encountered such a supportive community where we are a family and consider each other as such.

When you love doing something so much for someone you feel forever connected. I love what I do & I would be privileged to be part of your big day, to be your friend and to be there for you however you need me.
I am not just a Wedding Planner - I am your friend. I am not just your Wedding Stylist either. I am not here to tell you what you must do, how much you must spend or even what shoes you should buy. I am here simply for one reason only - to be there for you. I will help you create the Wedding Celebration of your dreams, one that your family & friends will be talking about for a long time to come.

Hi everyone, I'm Lauren! I am a people person so I love getting to know everyone!! I live in Lower Templestowe - about 25 minutes from the CBD. I live with my two children -James who is 16 and into Robotics & my 14 year old daughter Taryn who is an amazing dancer. I have a wonderful partner Les who I have been with for 5 years. The reason I love Weddings is that warm, fuzzy feeling that you get from feeling the abundance of love. Weddings are a celebration of the couple's love.

I have had chronic health issues since 2013, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to have implants after mastectomy and have had health issues ever since. I mostly stay in contact with my friends on social media but don't hang out with most of them in person, especially since covid. I have a long time friend that used to invite us to her events but stopped a few years ago. We still run into each other and she has asked when my wedding is and she knows my fiance, as they used to work together as managers for a retail pharmacy. Her kids and my son grew up around each other but I'm not sure if they should be on the guest list or not? She always says she misses us and we need to hang out but it never happens. I'm just not sure how to decide who we should include or not include and we are trying to stay within our budget AND keep up with social distancing during this pandemic.
Is a wedding planner worth the extra cost?
My fiance and I both come from extensive immediate and extended families, we are both Aboriginal descent with my family spreading across the state of VIC and his family spreading across NT, NSW and VIC. As a result of this, we have a huge guest list (trust me, we have been brutal in trying to cut it down.) We are trying to find ways to cut costs where we can, but it is becoming time-consuming for me to research everything. I currently work full time in a job where I travel across the state regularly while studying full time and being a business owner. So my main question are they worth the extra cost?

To answer your question - ABSOLUTELY.
Being a Wedding Planner, I can say, without a doubt, that it is money well invested. Especially since you have such a large wedding - it's no wonder it is becoming a job in itself! It takes on average 250 hours to plan a wedding and I bet you don't have that time given all that you have going on in your life already! The role of the Wedding Planner is to take over the details of planning your wedding, to sit down and discuss budgets and your wants & needs for your BIG day.
I like to treat my Clients as friends, so that they feel comfortable with me and trust me to plan all the details to take the pressure off. That in a nutshell is why hiring a Wedding Planner is worth the money. I love creating an individual and unique wedding. I also have qualifications in Travel so it is no issue for me to arrange travel & accommodation as well.
