FAQ

We are all about affordable photography, with our wedding packages starting at $1500. Depending on your event (engagement, family portraits, birthday party), prices are negotiable. Please see our Services & Prices page for more information.

We are more than happy to chat with you over the phone or meet with you to discuss changes to our standard packages. Please keep in mind that the work we do takes time and must still be financially viable for us. That being said, we are more than happy to negotiate to see if we can meet your specific needs.

Simply pay a $100 non-refundable deposit via cash or direct deposit and we are officially yours for the day!

The maximum time we could put a date on hold for is one week. Doing so is free of charge to you, but after that week you would either need to pay the $100 deposit or let the date go.

We use Canon Camera Gear and L-Series Canon lenses. On the day we use two cameras to get all the shots at your wedding.

If there is a specific location, position or group of people you want photographed, please let us know this before the day. However, we would prefer to be able to photograph in our own style, as we find this gives the most natural images and also allows us to use the location freely, rather than being locked into a certain set of photos and poses. If you need some inspiration for your photos drop by our Pinterest page using the link below.

Absolutely! We definitely prefer to meet face-to-face before the day. This gives us a chance to get to know each other better and importantly, makes sure that we are the right fit for you as we’ll be spending a lot of time together at your event. We currently live in Lilydale and are happy to meet in the area, or come to your local area if preferred.

Yes! We love to travel and are happy to negotiate a price with you to cover our costs if need be. Melbourne and surrounding suburbs are included in our packages. Interstate trips are not available at this stage.

We will take photos from the start of both the bride and groom and their parties getting ready, which generally begins three hours before the ceremony. Depending on which package you choose, we will then shoot up until the start of the reception, or approximately two hours into the reception (once the speeches, cake cutting and important dances are over). Generally we will be working with you for 6-8 hours on your special day.

Typically we would spend one hour at the brides getting ready location and 45 minutes with the groom. Depending on your getting ready locations and their proximity to your ceremony venue, we will decide whether we see the bride or groom first.   When meeting up with the bride, we ask that your hair and make-up is done, but that you and your bridesmaids are not yet in your dresses and that the bride is not wearing her engagement ring or important jewellery. This gives us a chance to take some shots of the dresses and the jewellery on their own, before you get dressed privately. We will then follow with some shots of the bride on her own, with her bridesmaids and flower girl and her family.   When meeting up with the groom, ideally you and the groomsmen will be showered and dressed in your suit pants and shirts. We will then get shots of you doing your ties, cufflinks, shoes etc and then move on to solo groom photos, group shots and family shots.   We like to arrive at the ceremony location 15-20 minutes before the start time so we can suss out the best locations for us to stand and move around to capture the best moments of the ceremony.

We will try our best to work with delays in time and still spend the maximum amount of time with both the bride and groom. We can always swap around who we visit first depending on who is running late and may ask that you are completely ready (clothes, jewellery, shoes etc…) so we can get straight into group and family photos when we arrive.

No need to worry! If you don’t mind getting the umbrella out we will still be able to capture some stunning photos. We can also accommodate changes in location settings for photos of family and groups if not everyone is happy about exposing themselves to Melbourne’s unpredictable weather!

An hour to an hour-and-a-half is ideal for photos between the ceremony and reception. It is important to keep in mind that your guests will be waiting during this time and you don’t want them to wait for too long. If you plan to take your post-ceremony photos quite a distance from where your reception will be held you will want to factor this in to the start time of your reception to ensure you do not run late.

Late afternoon, after 3.30pm, up until sunset, is the best time for photos. The sun is not too high in the sky or too bright which reduces glare and squinting of people in photos. You might wish to check sunset times prior to organising the time of your ceremony and reception.

We generally stay for most of the night or up until the last item on the running sheet. We always let you know when we are thinking of leaving so that we don't miss anything.

Depending on the timing of your major events during the reception we can either head off for 45 minutes to grab our own meal, or we may request that you provide a meal for us. Most venues will do so at a reduced rate – this can be discussed at the pre-wedding meeting.

No... A typical $1500 package wedding will see us take around 1,000 photos and a $2000 package wedding around 2,000. A large number of these photos are test shots that we use to focus the camera and we also like to ensure we that we take more than one shot of each moment or pose in case people are blinking, looking away from the camera etc. After the wedding we take great pleasure in sorting through the images and selecting the best ones, which will then be edited for you.

On average, a $1500 wedding will result in 250-300 photos and a $2000 in 350-400 photos. This will vary slightly depending on the each unique day and the amount of time actually covered, as well as the types of photos and select package you may request.

We aim to put a ‘sneak peak’ photo on our Facebook page the day after your wedding, followed by another 3-5 images over the next few weeks. The rest of the edited photos will be supplied, not watermarked, in high resolution on USB around 3-4 weeks after your wedding date.

Our editing process is fairly light and aims to maintain the look and feel of the day. We don’t want you to look back at your photos and not recognise yourselves due to over editing. We use the Adobe Suite to correct and adjust colours and remove any unfortunate blemishes that might pop up in the closer photos. Our main editing programs are Lightroom and Photoshop.

We sure can, although we don't really push this onto our clients.

No, printing is charged separately to the package cost and will be calculated after you have received your images and once you have placed your print order.

We generally take orders for prints over the phone so we can discuss exactly what your are after in regards to print, size and framing.

We will keep your images on file for one year from your wedding date. We recommend that you back the images up to your computers or an external hard drive to ensure they remain safe.

Matt was fantastic to work with. He is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and easy to get along with. Our engagement shoot photos came out so far beyond what we could have ever imagined. Matt is hilarious and loves to have fun, which is fantastic during what can be tedious and awkward photos if you are not comfortable in front of a camera. I will be recommending Matt to everybody I know moving forward, he is fabulous!

Matt is a very talented photographer, both in the work he produces and the way he works with people. He was really easy to talk to and we felt comfortable with him right at the start. We did an engagement shoot with him ahead of the wedding which (apart from the great photos) was a really good opportunity become comfortable in front of the camera and get used to working with Matt, allowing us to be relaxed and comfortable producing the best photos! On our wedding day he was friendly with our guests and was happy to take requests. Thanks so much Matt!

Matt did an amazing time from the day we first met him. He was a genuinely nice guy with a great personality which was more important to us than just the photos. We spoke numerous times before the wedding and had an enjoyable engagement shoot. On the day Matt traveled around everywhere to take all the necessary photos and did an amazing job. We couldn’t be more thankful for having Matt as our photographer
