Living right in Bowral I know all the best photo locations at our amazing local wedding venues. I am also a preferred supplier at most Southern Highlands venues and a well known and trusted member of the local wedding community.
With over 15 years experience and 600 weddings captured I have seen it all... this means you can be confident you are hiring a professional and reliable photographer capable of handling anything.
Being a boutique studio run by just myself and my wife you will receive a highly personalised service from start to finish. By only shooting a limited number of weddings per year I guarantee I will be totally committed to YOUR wedding.

I'm a relaxed person who enjoys a good laugh. Weddings are a real buzz for me because not only do I get to capture amazing moments and all kinds of emotion but I get to meet so many cool people. I live in Bowral with my wife and three kids and we enjoy a wonderful lifestyle on an old farm property where we have chickens, bees, fruit trees and a huge vegetable garden. We try really hard to be sustainable and leave a minimal footprint on the earth :)

I live in Bowral so any weddings in the Southern Highlands so I know all the local venues like Bendooley Estate, Centennial Vineyards, Peppers Manor House, Peppers Craigieburn and others really well.
That said I am happy to travel to Sydney weddings and all along the South Coast.
Yes! I have an awesome professional level drone that takes high quality images. The unique angle of a drone adds a really different perspective on your day.
I shot my first wedding in 2006 and since then I have photographed over 600 weddings!
This means I'm really comfortable at a wedding and have a relaxed approach to the day. Less stress = more natural photos. I have also seen a LOT... heavy rain, late wedding cars, cakes falling over... you name it I have probably dealt with it.
I have a candid approach to a wedding and I want the photos to "look natural". It's important you 'be yourself' and not to look stiff or uncomfortable in weird poses.
Most importantly to have natural looking photos you need to be having a good time, laughing, smiling, and being relaxed about your day. This is where my personality and approach is so important as I do make people feel comfortable: they have a laugh, smile and relax..... this creates the mood for natural and beautiful photos.
I use Canon professional cameras and lenses using two cameras on the day with another as a backup plus multiple lenses.
The cameras have dual card slots so your photos are stored on separate cards.
At home I have backup hard drives and cloud based storage as well.

2pm - final stages of getting ready shots, both boys and girls on the same property 3pm - ceremony, no group shots or congrats afterwards, 3.30pm - straight into family shots (14 people all up, 2 families) the property then a few bridal party shots at same location as family shots, 4.10pm - Bridal party and bride & groom shots off property (5 min drive) 5.30pm - Bridal party re-entrance going into reception, 6.20pm - Sparkler shot 6.30pm - Dinner 8pm - Cake cut and first dance
How far will wedding photographers travel and how do travel fees work?
We're considering a destination wedding but wondering if we find the photographer we love, will they travel, and how do they charge for that?

Travel for a wedding is a lot of fun - a new location is always exciting and a chance to get away is awesome too. But there are travel costs and time out of the calendar to be part of a destination wedding.
Personally I charge for flights, accommodation (2 nights) and any local travel required (eg transfers, hire car).
What questions are important to ask of potential wedding photographers?

The preparation time is ok but a little short. I'd recommend 20-30mins each for boys & girls, and then allow a good 15-20mins before the ceremony starts (to capture guest shots, the set up etc). So 1.30pm start time will be much better - just means less rush = better photos.
Straight after the ceremony I'd allow some time for mingling & congrats from guests etc. It's a nice time to capture some candid photos vs going straight into formal / family photos.
Will it be dark for a sparkler photo at 6.30pm? Ok if it is a winter wedding...
