Do photographers like to have a photo list from the couple?

Peter Edwards Photography

I always meet up with my couples for a pre wedding photo shoot and wedding disscusion about 4-6 weeks before the wedding. I am happy to go through a list of photo ideas with the couple. Mostly what's on the list is what i would shoot anyway and if there is something new i will make sure i capture it.

Is there anything I can do if I don't like how my wedding photo's are edited?

Peter Edwards Photography

If you are not happy with how your images are edited and the photographer wont fix the problem ask for the original files. You could take them to a professional photo lab and have them edited properly.

why are some photographers price double what others are?

Peter Edwards Photography

 The question boils down to

1. The quality of the work he or she produces

2. The years of experiece of the photographer has

3. The artistic ability of the photographer

4. The ability of the photographer to plan well how he or she will use the time they have to produce the best outcome for their client

5.The computer work the photographer may do to each image that goes into the album

6. What clients are prepared to pay for the quality of work the photographer produces

7. The quality of the equipment the photographer uses

You are not buying the same product from each photographer. Every photographer is different.

what does the standard photography package include?

Peter Edwards Photography

There is no such thing as a standard wedding package. Always read all the details before you book.

How do I stop a photographer using my wedding images for their promotion?

I have read a few contracts and I am so confused. Why don't I own the photo's of ME that I paid for? :(

Peter Edwards Photography

You can ask the photographer before you book them to add a clause in the contract that you sign up to that states you do not want any of your images used for advertising and promotion. Any reputable photographer will agree to this. If they dont it's easy walk out the door and dont come back. A reputable photographer will not use the images after agreeing to add that clause. I have had clients ask me the same question and i've agreed to not use there images. You do own the images that you have paid for, it's just that in the photographers contract the client agrees to allowing the photographer to use the images for advertising and promotion.

Should i trust a destination wedding photographer

My wedding is in Bali. I don't know if I should trust a photographer in Bali or pay for one to fly over from Australia. What are your thoughts?

Peter Edwards Photography

It really depends on the quality of the photography that you require. If the company that you booked to stage your wedding has organised your photographer more than likely you are going to get ok images. If you want something extra special then you should organise the photographer yourself and know that you are going to get the images you want.

Do photographers edit out blemishes?

I have some pretty awful scarring on my arms from a motorbike accident a few years ago. Can I have them edited out of my wedding photos? Is it difficult/expensive to do?

Peter Edwards Photography

It will really depend on the photographer you hire. It is not a standard option for many photographers. The best thing you can do is have the retouching as an option that has to be done when you make a booking. If the photographer does not have that in their repertoire then don't book them. I would photograph you in such a way as to minimise the scarring. In the candid images i would edit as par for the course.

Should i have a boudiour shoot?

I am really proud of my body so I'm considering it! when would you do it? Before the "getting ready" shots? :) Would it be built into the cost of the package or a separate cost?

Peter Edwards Photography

Hi Kayley,

Have the images taken just before getting into your gown. Allow more time to have the photographs taken so you are not rushing. A good idea is to have the images separated from your wedding photographs so only the people you want, see them.
