Generally I work alone. For the majority of weddings, I find, with careful planning, this is adequate. If you prefer a second shooter, this can certainly be arranged.
This does vary a lot depending on how much driving is involved between venues, how many guests you have, family photos required and so on. As a general rule of thumb, you should expect about 80 - 100 stunning images per hour of shooting.
Yes you certainly can! This is encouraged, it's so lovely have something to have and hold, or put on the wall after your day has finished as a permanent reminder.

Hi there, great question!
There are two main advatages of having a first look. The first is that you get to spend more time with your guests during the cocktail hour as it's during the cocktail hour that couples are usually whisked away for photos. If these are mostly all done, then, the cocktail hour can be spent mingling with your guests.
The second big reason is to make use of the light. This is most relevant for Winter weddings when ceremonies are scheuled for late in the day, you can opt for a first look before you run out of light.
A first look is certainly gaining in popularity, approximately 30% of the weddings I do, the couple opts for a first look. The main disadvatange I see, is that's a a less "traditional" approach. This may not sit well with familes of the older generation or for cultural weddings where it's not the norm.
There are no right or wrong answer, do whatever suits you and your parnter best. And good luck!
What happens if our photographer is sick on the day?
If we find our dream photographer, what happens if they're sick on the day and can't photograph our wedding? Would they send a replacement or how does that work?

Part of being a successful photographer is having good networks. I personally have never had to forfeit a wedding due to being unwell or any other reason. But we are all human. Your photographer should be able to have good people around them in a similar style and price point they could call on in the case of an emergency or being unwell. Your photographer should be doing everything they can to find a replacement for you.
