FAQ

Relaxing, kind, friendly and fun. Able to travel through the day seamlessly and unobtrusively capturing photos with artistic flair ensuring guests are comfortable and at ease.

I am all about capturing your day in a very natural way, however I get it, we all have our shy moments in front of the camera. I usually get you both talking, crack a few jokes or get you to shake it out with a silly dance move. All of these things help to ease you in, make you feel comfortable in the moment so I can capture your natural expressions.

I am a hybrid photographer so capture images with both digital and analogue cameras to ensure you have a blend of truly unique photographs from your wedding day. I have a few special effect cameras and a shoot a few instant snaps on my Polaroid camera or Fujifilm Instax. All wedding photography packages includes a mixture of 35mm film, 120 film and digital photographs.

The Pill Factory Bundanoon, Morton National Park, Berida Hotel, Bernies Diner, Farm Club Australia, Tuggeranong Homestead, The Boat House, The National Art Gallery. Really any space that suits your style, as I am a firm believer in your day, your way.

Absolutely! I highly recommend that we meet prior to their wedding day to discuss your event and run through any questions you may have. I am happy to catch up for a hot beverage at a cosy cafe or a drink at the pub. If you aren’t based locally, we can meet virtually or have a chat over the phone.

I offer connection sessions they are a fun, laidback 1 hour photo session that occurs prior to your wedding day. It allows you to become more comfortable in front of the camera, a chance for everyone to get to know eachother and some spent in a natural setting.

I would recommend the ‘Merry Making’ package as this includes 9 hours of photography time which covers the getting ready stages all the way to busting a move on the dance floor. This way you get the full story of your day.

I am a practicing artist which means I am consistently upskilling myself and learning about the craft of photography. You'll find me at the darkroom once a week and develop film and hand make prints, you can catch more about this process on Instagram.

November 2021

We had the pleasure of Sinead’s company at our wedding in November 2019. Sinead is incredibly talented, has a gorgeous keen eye for detail and is exceptionally professional. We feel so lucky, I can’t recommend her enough! Sinead went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable in front of her camera, and had the perfect prompts to encourage us along the way. She has an intuitive style, seamlessly moving around to capture the most gorgeous candid moments shared between our family and friends. We received a sneak peak of the photos extremely quickly, and all of the photos shortly thereafter. Our photographs are just bursting with life and are full of so much love. Further to this, she surprised us with a lovely box of prints and polaroids - a beautiful finishing touch that we will treasure forever. Thank you, Sinead!

Sinead from Golden Thread Photography is one of the most beautiful people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am so grateful to have found her to capture our Wedding. From the moment I met her, it was love at first sight. Sinead ensured there was understanding of what style photographs we wanted. Sinead has a vibrant, relaxed, fun but chilled vibe about her and our entire wedding party felt nothing but comfort with her. Honestly, photos were one of the highlights of our wedding day! The photographs came out absolutely stunning as she was able to capture some really raw and emotional moments. But also, the beautiful and fun side! I don't know how she did it, but Sinead was in a million places at once. If I could relive my wedding day, I would choose Golden Thread Photography, every single time.

Angelina, this is so beautiful and made me so happy. I am so happy that you and Nick chose me as your photographer and you felt comfortable as that is so important on your day. Your family and friends made me feel so welcome and it was easy to blend in and capture those candid shots and emotional moments. By far one of my favourite memories was the speech that included the loaf of bread. I say bring on the reunion!!! So much love and gratitude, Sinead

August 2021

Sinead is such a special photographer! You won't find a more professional and dedicated wedding photographer anywhere. Sinead was just amazing to work with, has a knack for making you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and is just an all round wonderful human. Sinead took our engagement and wedding photos and we are so blown away with the final product. She perfectly captured the way we felt on the day, which is all the more special as many of our friends and family couldn't make the ceremony in person due to lockdowns. Sinead has given us such a gift in being able to share our day with those who couldn't be there in person!

Thank you Liesl and Hans for your extremely kind words, I am so humbled. I truly was so excited when you explained your vision for your day and was so thrilled when you chose me to capture this. The way you allowed for me to just blend in with your friends and family able to attend, allowed for me to get more natural photos. Thank you again for a beautiful opportunity, cannot wait to capture part 2 when COVID restrictions ease!

What kind of photos would we need to be considered for a wedding blog or magazine?

I think it would be so amazing to get featured in a real wedding blog or magazine. Is there a list or style of photos I'd need to help us be in with a chance?

Golden Thread Photography

As long as your wedding shows your day, your way and you have a story that can be represented visually there is a magazine for you. Connection and colour are the the biggest themes when it comes to being selected online so if your photos show a variety of these main themes and the story you write matches.

There are websites like Matchology that allow you to submit your work to the world's most recognised wedding blogs or you can opt for businesses that are local to your area like the Fold Southern Highlands, Easy Weddings to submit your wedding that will get recognised throughout Australia or if you are considering a theme thats quite out there then something like Rock n Roll Bride could be a good option. Also it really helps out if you tag your suppliers as they will generally re-share this and this will get you more exposure which then usually leads the blogs/magazines to highlight this in their social media.

Is a wedding album worth it?

Not sure about this. Thinking we might just do our own wedding album online but then again, we're not very creative. And do all photographers do albums or would we be finding our own company for it?

Golden Thread Photography

I am a big believer in printing your photos, to touch the paper, view your images in pyschical format is really important. Getting an album means that you are able to go through this with family and friends for years to come. It is best to ask your photographer what sorts of packages they have, what the inclusions are. If you are happy with their style then give them a theme of what you would like included in your book e.g. mostly family photographs and they can save you hours of putting this together for you and your partner in a tasteful and creative way.
