Robert Rothko is a well-rounded, classically trained American vocalist and guitarist. Based in Melbourne, Robert studied opera in Vienna and has a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance. Robert Rothko has been singing at weddings since the early age of 12. Originally from Indianapolis, USA, Robert is a world-class vocalist and musician. He studied opera in Vienna and earned a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from the number-one-ranked vocal school in the United States: The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Robert has since worked with Grammy Award-winning producers and writers in Nashville and soon became a regular performer on the LA music circuit.

About
In 2016, Robert met a beautiful woman with a funny accent at a party in LA. Try as he might, he was completely overtaken by this strange, exotic woman from The Land Down Under. Employing her Aussie charms, she whisked him away to start a new life with her in the Southern Hemisphere. Recently married, Robert is now happy to call Melbourne home.

I started singing professionally in weddings when I was 12 years old. Since then, I’ve sung regularly in many types of weddings...religious and secular, traditional and contemporary, etc.
I've performed during wedding ceremonies as well as receptions, and the broad range of tastes, styles, and requests I've accommodated over the years has honed my versatility.
I have a master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the top vocal school in the USA: the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. I studied opera and classical art song, but I also have extensive experience singing pop, rock, and musical theater. I have performed in many of the most prominent venues in Los Angeles, both with a band and as a solo artist.
I am a bit of a chameleon.
Most of the weddings I perform in are contemporary, and I play/sing in a pop/folk style that’s compared to that of Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, and Justin Timberlake.
For weddings that are more traditional, I employ my classical training for a slightly different aesthetic. In this style, my singing is often compared to Josh Groban’s. Actually, there is a recording on my SoundCloud of me performing a Josh Groban song “To Where You Are.” Listening to that will give you a good idea of what I mean!
The bottom line: I’m happy to talk to couples about their musical preferences and adapt accordingly.
Absolutely! In the past, I’ve even “reworked” the lyrics of a song completely to fit the story of the wedding couple. I’m happy to learn new music that is special to the bride and groom.
Yes. I have my own PA system that provides excellent sound quality and sound dispersion. My system works beautifully for smaller and medium-sized venues. For large venues, I work with a sound rental company to ensure I have what I need.
Yes again. Depending on the distance, my rate may change. Talk to me, and we can figure it out!
