The Smooth Jive Consultants pride themselves on being the most versatile covers band in the Sydney scene. With over 60 years in the music industry between them, they never fail to exceed expectations.

The SJC team are extremely adaptable. A smooth jazz set over dinner, followed by a rocking party set full of Retro hits and party favourites following your reception is no trouble. The band can also be employed to fulfil any music requirements of your wedding ceremony, there’s virtually nothing that between us we can’t handle. We provide, at no extra charge:

* Full PA system (that can be used for speeches and your MC)
* Smoke and lighting effects (if desired)
* MC services (if required)
* We are happy to learn songs for bridal waltz, father/daughter dance etc if your requested songs aren't already in our extensive song list.

Band or DJ or both?

I'm thinking about having a live band during the ceremony, and a DJ at night. How much realistically should I expect to pay for each? Or should I just go with one for the entire day?

Hey Roxanne,

Good question! DJ's normally charge about 1K for a wedding receiption.

For a ceremony band, 2-3 piece, probably around the $1500 mark if it's Sydney-based? That's our normal ceremony fee anyway. We don't offer DJ services though but could quote you on a party band for your reception if you're interested in a second option.
