About
After spending 15 years of performing in local musical theatre, it was time to try something different and I started Oak Acoustic in 2013. I know how important good quality live music is when celebrating special occasions. Singing brings me such an immense amount of joy and I love seeing how our music creates such a wonderful atmosphere for couples and their guests.

We perform 3 sets at receptions (this usually equates to around 40 songs). We do 2 short sets while meals are served (around 40 mins each), then once all of the formalities are finished we will end the night with a 1 hour set. This works well as it gives guests plenty of time to enjoy themselves on the dance floor. As every wedding reception is different we always work in with the schedule for the night.
As every space is different we like to allow 1.5 hours to set up. This ensures we have sufficient time to carry out a full sound check prior to the commencement of the ceremony/reception to ensure our sound is well balanced for the space.
We have performed outdoors for many weddings. All we need is access to power and suitable protection in the event of bad weather. If power is not available we can perform unamplified which we have done several times before.
We can provide them with a microphone on a stand next to our stage. They may use our sound system, however this will be controlled by the band. Unfortunately we are not able to allow guests onto our stage area due to risk of personal injury and damage to our equipment. We suggest that they arrive early to meet with us so that we can complete a sound check for them.
Yes this is perfectly fine. We just need to know details about the sound system in advance however we can liaise with the venue regarding this.

Hi. I am looking for an acoustic duo/trio/small band (as our venue isn't huge) that can cover a wide range of music, from 80's/90's, alternative and even a touch of metal. Almost a Double J type selection. Nick Cave a must. Metallica/Iron Maiden/Ghost a bonus for the husbo to be. Wine sipping and dancing music, with no head banging. Hi,
My name is Kylie from Oak Acoustic Band. We are a trio and for weddings we usually perform lots of classic 'pub songs' that guests can dance/sing along to but we can also tailor our set lists to suit what our clients are looking for. Our acoustic music is 100% live and will fill the dance floor (female and male vocals, 2 guitars and percussion).
Based on the decades and genres you have listed, some of the artists/bands that we cover that may appeal to you are Cold Chisel, Crowded House, Stone Temple Pilots, Pink Floyd, Guns and Roses, Bon Jovi, Noiseworks, Foo Fighters, Rolling Stones, The Black Keys, Oasis, Bryan Adams. Our wedding packages include learning 1-2 songs of your choice therefore if there is a special song that you would like performed we would be happy to learn it for you.
