How many sets will you play?

We'll do 1 x 40min funky jazz, instrumental set at the start of the night, or during meals - basically at a point in the evening when you want some vibe but no dancing yet. Then we'll do either 3 x 40min or 2 x 60min party sets. It may not seem like a lot of music but once you factor in speeches, meal service and cake cutting etc, it's heaps! In our experience, often we have to cut songs from our set as speeches run over and we have to finish by a certain time!

About

I'm a full-time performer and artist in Melbourne... and I honestly have the best job ever. This band was started by our former disco queen Phoebe who moved on to do other amazing projects, leaving me at the helm of a spectacular musical crew. Somehow the band has the holy trinity of traits for any bands - everyone is exceptionally talented, we love hanging out together and we love playing music. Nothing makes us happier than sharing what we do and seeing smiling faces on the dance floor.

Yep! Well - partially anyway. Even though unfortunately Phoebe was unable to sing with band on the night, Shannen was able to step in and do such an amazing job with the band. All our guests raved about how much they loved the band, even our photo booth operator was dancing! It was so special to us that they learnt the song “Grow Old With You” from The Wedding Singer . I tear up when I think about what it was like to hear the band perform it while we had our first dance as husband and wife. It was also lovely that the the band members took the time to check in with us throughout the night. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting an amazing musical experience at their wedding!

Unlike most brides I didn't care about getting everything perfect because I knew that if I just got the music and drinks right everything else would fall into place and that's exactly what happened. I've been dancing to Phoebe's music for years so it was a real honour to finally have Phoebe and the Night Creatures all to ourselves! These guys just love doing what they do - a labour of love you might say - and they really bring their all. The arrangement of our first dance track was beyond beautiful. I couldn't get my guest off the dance floor at the end of the night (partly because the band didn't want to leave either). Love you guys!! You sprinkled our night with your disco magic and we're eternally grateful 🥰

Phoebe and the Night Creatures were the perfect pick for us to have at our wedding. We gave Phoebe nothing to go by other than "do your stuff, read the guests and have fun" and she nailed it! Phoebe was so great to deal with in the lead up to our wedding as well. I literally didn't have to worry about a thing with Phoebe in charge of the music! Could not recommend more highly - I'm so glad we went with an amazing vocalist and the 5 person band. Nothing beats amazing live music and there was no cheesy jukebox tired "wedding hits" at our wedding. We got so much great feedback from our guests about the band too which was nice!

So many guests came to us after the wedding commenting on how good the band was. Exceptional musicians and artist that will guarantee you an amazing night! Shannen was our vocal lead and she was spectacular. We had lots of kids at the wedding and it was a tough crowd to control and they did an amazing job. They learnt your song and were super flexible with how the sets were organised. Totally recommended!!

The Night Creatures were absolutely perfect for our wedding! They were amazing musicians and set the mood beautifully, making our ceremony special and then getting everyone dancing in the reception. So many of our friends and family came up to us afterwards and commented on how awesome the band was. Diego was very professional and worked hard to make sure everything was perfect. Which goes first, the first dance or Father/Daughter dance? Thanks!

It's completely up to you, however for all the weddings we've done, the first dance usually comes first. Father daughter dance works really well as the first song in the next set. I wouldn't put it after the first dance - usually guests love to come and dance after the first dance, so if you do a second dance whereby the guests can't join in, it might lose momentum a bit... but it's completely up to you guys! :)
