I am Alistair, and I love DJing at Weddings and other Significant Life Moment celebrations! 

I've been doing weddings almost exclusively for 10 years now,  My specialities are Indie and Alternative from the last 25 years, 80s pop, Mowtown and Northern Soul, and 90s'and 2000s R'nB and Hip Hop, Britpop, as well as a good mix of stone cold classics, and I have basically DJ�d every style of music over the last little while, and the only ones I really don't like doing are reggae sets, and hi-nrg hardcore techno ones, mainly because I just don't know the music well enough... What I like to do is get to know what each couple wants and doesn't want, what their friends and family like and dont like, and tailor it from there to make an inclusive and fun evening of everyone getting a chance to have a boogie together at at least some point. From the ultra obscure and eclectic, to the perfectly straight down the line classic wedding dancefloor sets, I really enjoy the view from behind the decks, seeing Uncle John who *never dances* getting up and shaking it with the young 'uns because "it just seems the right thing to do", generations dancing and smiling and singing with each other, families and friends bonding over *that track* on the dancefloor.

I started DJing when I was about 20 years old after being a record collector to that point. I had enrolled in a Canberran "DJ School"and whilst I dont know if we learnt that much, I met some amazing friends - we all practiced together, and eventually got the oportunity to play some records down at a bar that one of them managed. That went well - I found out what worked with crowds, what didn't work, and over the years, developed a love of making groups of people dance to a soundtrack that enhances their night, more focused on having people dance together, than have them staring at me up the front.

This led to me getting asked to play at a wedding in Canberra, and from there I found what I love the most - having a happy crowd of people of all ages, dancing together to music in celebration of a common binding agent - the happiness of their loved ones!

I've been lucky enough over the last decade to throw the speakers and decks up the car and travel right across Australia doing weddings, and I really value the opportunity afforded to me by the couples to get out of town and explore this great land, or indeed to see some of the magical venues that Sydney has to offer. But from backyards to ballrooms, wineries to galleries and country pubs to swish all in one venues,I love tailoring the music to the people, the surrounds and the tone of the evening, so that everyone feels included, and everyone leaves with a smile on their face.
