We are a harp, cello, voice & saxophone ensemble founded in early 2020 with the purpose of creating a unique presence in the Brisbane live entertainment scene. We provide that touch of elegance to any corporate, wedding, and party and ensure that your music needs are fulfilled. Our trio comprises of Tijana on harp, Michelle on cello, and Harmony on saxophone & vocals.

FAQ

What does Artela need to perform? Do you play outside?

We are almost completely self-sufficient.

We require a flat and levelled (i.e. no slope or bump), dry surface to play on. If the playing environment is outside, the instruments need to be shaded from direct sunlight and possible rain.

Other than that, we provide our own equipment (instruments, chairs and stands) and if required we provide our own amplification (we just need a power source from you).

What set up time does Artela need and is that included in the price?

We usually arrive about an hour before we are meant to start performing and this is included in the price.

For example, if you need us to play from 2pm-3pm, we will be there at 1pm and we will only charge for the one performance hour. However, if we need to wait, we do charge for waiting time. For example, if you need us to perform from 2-3pm and later on from 4-5pm, our fee will be for the entire 3 hours 2-5pm.

Wait time and hire of amplification will be included in the price if necessary.

Can I choose the music and do you accept song requests? What does the band wear?

Definitely!

At Artela, we are always happy to play your music style and song choices. We arrange the majority of the music ourselves so we do need a month's notice for any special song requests.

We usually play in performance elegant blacks, however we may colour coordinate for your event.

What events do you play at and who will be my contact on the day?

We play at almost any event you can think of!

We perform at weddings, corporate functions, family events such as birthdays, baby showers, morning teas, as well as background music for your guests in restaurants and hotels.

The contact person on the day will be one of our musicians engaged for your event, meaning they will also be on site an hour before the performance for any last minute questions or directions you may have.

Can you assist me in choosing the music for my wedding?

Of course! With years of experience making music, we have done it all and are able to make recommendations for music of all genres based on your needs.

Whether it is classical music for the ceremony, romantic pop for the signing or canapes or dancefloor favourites, we have a great range of choices to suggest for you.

If your party or corporate function has a theme, we can adapt and make it all the more authentic.

If you like the eternal classics, then Pachelbel's Cannon in D, Bach's Arioso, Wedding March by Mendelssohn or the Bridal Chorus by Wagner.

If you would like something more modern, then Perfect by Ed Sheeran, Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis or A Thousand Years by Christina Perri might be the songs for you. We've even played Disney songs!

Jazz favourites like Misty, Dream a Little Dream of Me and Somewhere Over the Rainbow are some great ideas as well.
