Hi gorgeous bride-to-be,
I'm Evalyn, the owner and founder of the Evalyn Parsons brand, it's so lovely to meet you!
Evalyn Parsons Weddings is my ultimate passion project. I started the company over 18 years ago after working for 7 years as a hairdresser and stylist with some gorgeous salons in Toowoomba and Brisbane.
In 2004 I had just moved to the Sunshine Coast with my husband, had a newborn and knew it was time to build a brand that was all about gorgeous hair styling for brides in the comfort of their own location.
I do what I do for 3 simple reasons:
- I experience a great amount of joy from beautifying brides and their wedding parties
- I love the challenge of building and running my own business
- I love working with our amazing team of stylists who all share the same passion and skill for hair styling
Creating hair for weddings is so much more than just making a bride look glam; it's about creating a memorable, luxurious and flawless experience for her. Each of the stylists on our team live and breathe this idea and that's what makes an exceptional team. We will not only make you feel amazing and more beautiful than you have ever felt before but we will do it while being professional, punctual and lots of fun to be around.

Evalyn has been styling hair for over twenty years and she has owned and operated her Sunshine Coast wedding business and hair salon for over 15 years. Evalyn has made her mark as a highly recognised, award winning stylist and her work has been featured in many editorials, magazine covers and fashion shoots. Thousands (literally!) of happy brides have experienced Evalyn’s hair styling prowess to create their dream wedding hair.

FAQ
The plan for your trial is that you make email contact to book a trial date about 4-8 weeks prior to your day. As we are booked up with weddings on weekends, trials are only held on weekdays.
At the trial your stylist will spend time with you creating a style that you love, working through your ideas and any accessories that you have to use with your style. She will also take photos of the finished style and bring them along on the wedding day so that you have the opportunity to fine tune and make any changes you would like to your hair.
During your trial we can also discuss the final numbers in your wedding party, and any other queries you may have. If life is busy with work or you live away, it is not a problem to leave the trial until the week leading up to the wedding.
We can colour match and source high quality hair extensions for you. The cost varies between $250 - $495 depending on how many you will need. We usually place the order after your trial, once your stylist has seen your hair and the look that you want to achieve, and then your stylist will bring the extensions with her on the day of your wedding.
We offer free travel to all the Sunshine Coast areas within a 50km radius of Caloundra for all wedding bookings. We also offer wedding hair styling outside of this region. Please contact us for a personalised quote.
No, we do not. We are hair styling specialists and this is something that we are very experienced in and passionate about. We feel it's essential to have two separate suppliers that are each experts in their own field. With a lot of combined packages you will find that they are more specialised in one area and you won't get the best of both hair and makeup in that situation. Timing on the day will also flow more smoothly with independent suppliers working at the same time.
Trials for bridesmaids and mothers are not included with the cost of bride's hair. Our stylists are happy to do a free verbal consultation with your bridesmaids and family members if they come along to your trial with you. Your stylist will take a look at everyone's hair, chat about possible styles and will take notes so that no one forgets on the day!

Hair and makeup trends for 2024
Hi there, what do you predict will be in/popular for wedding hairstyles and makeup in 2024/25? Are there any new/unique trends on the horizon?

Congratulations and how exciting that you are planning your wedding! For our brides, we are seeing the trend with glamour/vintage/hollywood waves continuing, as well as elegant low buns/chignons. Ponytails are also very popular for our bridesmaids hair styling, as well as each bridesmaid having a different style that suits their face shape and hair type. Congratulations again and all the best with your wedding planning.
When should my HMUA arrive if my ceremony is at 12pm (12.30 start)?

There are a lot of factors that can affect this. Number of people having hair and makeup completed, time needed to travel to ceremony as well as your photographers request regarding when they need you all ready by. I would suggest booking a hair styist and makeup artist seperately so they can be working on you and your wedding party at the same time. I would aim to have everyone complete by approx 10:30am to allow time for you to get dressed and have around an hour for photography. Dependig on numbers this could mean you were approximately starting anywhere from 7 - 8:30am.
