A makeup and hair trial for your wedding is an essential part of the process to ensure your wedding day runs smoothly and you are satisfied with your hair and makeup on the day. During your trial, you will meet your stylist and discuss your wants and desires for your wedding day.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY TRIAL?

We recommend you have your trial around 2 months before the wedding, once you have your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses finalised.

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR TRIAL:

We recommend that you bring along your veil or any hair accessories you wish to wear on the day, a photo of your dress, a photo of your bridesmaid's dresses, any colour inspiration for your wedding (for example, pink flowers, or red roses) and any hair or makeup inspiration that you love. We recommend wearing a white or ivory loose top or button down shirt so we can easily access your neckline to blend foundation and create beautiful hairstyles without obstruction. Light coloured clothing helps give the client perspective when taking photos of the finished hair and makeup style, providing the illusion of being in your wedding gown.

IDEAS AND INSPIRATION:

When you arrive for your trial, we talk through your ideas and inspiration for your wedding day. This includes details about the dress, the decorations, the ceremony and the overall theme for the day. We seek to understand your personal style and how you style your own hair and makeup on a day to day basis. We then do your hair and makeup and ensure it is what you envision, taking professional photos along the way so we can recreate the look on the day. We also discuss the best skincare regime for you to follow leading up to your wedding.

PLEASE NOTE:

All bridal hair and makeup trials are done at the Eva Hair & Makeup Private Studio in Kangaroo Point on weekdays during the day or in the evening. We do not book bridal trials on weekends, however if this is a requirement please contact Eva to discuss.

1. Please arrive with fresh, cleansed skin

2. If we meet early in the morning, we will apply moisturizer/skincare for you

3. If we meet later in the day, please use your usual moisturizer in the morning,

and I will complete the skincare as needed.

4. If you have allergies, it’s fine if you want to use your own skincare products

5. Follow your usual morning skincare regime.

6. Please remove leftover mascara, eyeliner, eyelash glue thoroughly

1. Wash your hair the night before. Shampoo twice and condition once.

2. TIP: Apply conditioner from mid-way down your hair to the ends.

3. Try to avoid applying conditioner it to your scalp.

4. Avoid hair products such as serums, smoothing creams or argan oil.

5. Blow dry your hair as smooth as possible without putting a

straightening iron over it.

6. If you would like us to blow dry your hair, please speak to us about

this upon booking.

7. You must wear a loose top or button-up shirt (no woolen clothing or

hoodies are to be worn near the nape area as they cause static to

your hair.

8. No face creams or spray tan to be applied near the hairline.

FOR BEST RESULTS

“Avoid using brands including Pantene, Palmolive, Tresemme or Sunsilk because these products are silicone based and will make the hair slippery to work with.”

For any hair services, the below steps are required. If your hair is not prepared on the day, a hair ‘smoothing’ fee will apply.
