When Jody and Tiarna met at a floral styling class, they had no idea they would become co-owners of a successful Mackay-based wedding floral studio, one beloved by locals. Their backgrounds — one growing and supplying fresh cut flowers around Australia, the other witnessing her aunt working as a florist — came together to create a beautiful partnership.
Together, they formed Wild Posy Co., a boutique florist specialising in breathtaking wedding floral arrangements, focusing on custom designs. These "petal heads", as they call themselves, tailor fresh, seasonal blooms to their couple's style, with attention to detail foremost. The result? Gorgeous floral arrangements that look exquisite in photos.

Most experienced wedding & event florists are familiar with the logistical preparations needed to transport wedding florals outside of the city.
I've travelled to country west NSW from Queensland to design florals for my clients - we made arrangements to ensure that I would have a coldroom for storage and a suitable area to design the florals onsite. I supplied my floristry tools, sundries and the florals, then went to work processing, designing and installing them over 2 days. I was accommodated for the two nights and travel in addition to my floral design engagement.
Likewise, I've also travelled to rural remote Western Queensland with the same coniditions.
When reaching out to florists, ensure that they are experienced and equipped to travel.

Yes, most florists will confirm if you wish to collect your own florals or have them delivered and installed on location - then provide a quotation for these services. Prices for these services will often be based off fuel costs for the distances and number of locations requested, travel and installation time.
We always recommend delivering Bridal Party florals just before the photographer is booked to arrive. That way you can feauture them throughout a variety of your 'getting ready' shots.
We personally do not recommend trying to collect or install your own wedding florals unless you have experience transporting and caring for fresh flowers! They are extremely difficult to transport safely without damage and careful consideration must be given to the mechanics used to securely attach florals to arbours etc. For a stress-free day, leave it to the experts who are well equipped to handle the logistical side of event floristry in all elements of weather and will ensure that everything is perfect for your special day!
