I have been a florist for 29 years. I have seen many changes in my time as a "Floralolagist". I am loving the free form bouquets at the moment with lush greenery and flower walls and arbors of all shapes and sizes with stunning florals. Styling flowers and decorations for your wedding or event is just part of what I can offer. We also have hire items to include candle holders, Arbors, flower and greenery walls, Welcome signs and mirrors, wishing well boxes with custom decals. #lovemyjob

How much would hanging floral (can be silk flowers) decoration be?
My reception will be held at L'Aqua, the Gold Room in June 2019. Anyone with ideas on costing for hanging ceiling decorations for this venue?

Good evening, Congratulations on your wedding,
Firstly it depends on the type of ceiling installation your wanting.eg: hanging stems.....chandeliere style......fairylights with artifical flowers .
Some of these will cost you anything from $6,000 down to about $1,500 . depending on size required.
You will have to take into consideration
1. How much time does the venue give the florist or stylist to set up, This is what they call a bump in time . There are fees for this.
again depending on style of florals .
2. How many people will it require to instal the ceiling instalation and pack down.
3. fresh or silk flowers.
Although Im based in Newcastle I have been to Dock Side many a time with another event company that I have worked with.

Can florists typically provide petals as well? :)

Yes florists can provide Petals . However you do have to order them in. It isnt something they keep on hand from day to day.

Good evening Bride to be.
Weddings are as individual as you. I like to ask "What do you like" . some of my brides have NO IDEA on flowers at all.Generally speaking you will need :
Brides bouquet. Maids bouquets, button holes for groom and party plus the dads. ( some customs require guest button holes as well )
Corsages for the mums. We also supply a complimentry throw away bouquet.
Ceremony flowers can be fresh.. But to cut costs you can hire silk flowers on plynths . Most florists and event companies will set these up for you with a set up and collection fee. in some cases we have then used the church flowers or arbour flowers to go to the reception.
Reception can again be fresh or silk florals.
In the past we have set up bridal rooms the day before the wedding and placed florals in there as well.
